Show me your German Blue Polyp Acropora!

I actually lowered my vodka dose (which has been constant for many many months now) and the green is coming back. Hmmmm.....

I know someone from our local reef club that has a pair of yellow gobys is their sps tank, and they too get no polyp extension. Also, the gobys will lay eggs on the acro branches and kill that area of the acro. They do not get polyp extension during the day either. It is best to stay away from perching type fish in an sps tank.

Peter,
I know what you can do...send me the colony and I'll gt it all colored up for ya :D, hehehe. Mine was awesome color wise but took forever to grow...tons of encrusting. It was almost the last coral to die in my acro wipeout of 2009 that I am attributing to a viral infection of some sort. I am starting over and this is one on my list to reacquire. I agree, hardy but sensative to water chemistry changes or placement changes. I had found the sweet spot and got a nice green with blue/purple polyps...mine were always out :). Great coral.

Here is mine. The base is coloring up but the blue polyps are not popping just yet. It is looking better since I have dialed back my lighting.

No problem Alicia, I'll have a big ol' care package for you after I move my tank and probably break every acro I own during the process :bounce1:

Nice piece you got there logzor, how long have you had it.

I looked back as some pictures and they date to around 9 months ago! I cant believe it has been that long, I would think it should have grown more. I guess it was pretty small to begin with, though.

I here ya. Mine has grown slow but it's a tank though. It's been through 1.032 salinity (was still using hydrometer), bacteria blooms, PC lighting-175 plusrite MH lighting, XM MH lighting 175W, then a huge burining change to 400W MH XM 10K!, high phosphates and my sudden addition of GFO, and now it's happy and growing. I've had mine for 2 years and it's still a baby colony. It's made it through me learining about reef keeping. Now that I've got the hang of it, It's going to be a real nice peace.

Here's my frag of GBP. I really need to mount this, it's been on my frag rack for a few month's.:lolspin:
