Show me your German Blue Polyp Acropora!

It looks like they lose their color as they get bigger. I just got a frag from a buddy a few weeks ago and it is still coloring up. Here's a recent shot of it.

Belgian Waffleman....I think that little yellow guy is the reason you have no polyp extension. Yellow clown gobies are known to pic at sps polyps and bother sps. Keep an eye on it!!

Hi Werdlone,
Thanks for the info. I sorta suspected it to nip a couple polyps. The goby sleeps in the GBP. None of my Acroporas have good PE but they all do have good growth.

I have been thinking of removing the goby, but I will face some resistance from family members.

I attribute the unusual growth pattern on mine to an earlier infestation of Vermetid snails. Heck of a base she's laying down though.

looks like its ready to take off.once a few small new active growth tips pop,it will grow fast.mine looked the same for a while then took off.

Do you guys think it grows at about the same pace as the Original Purple Monster. It seems to me that these two were my slowest growers in the old tank. I think overall the GBP was a bit faster than the PM but not much. I am looking to start over with both of these in the new tank as I lost them in my crash last year :(.

wow im jealous of all ya. i got one it wont bleach or die but color is horrible and so is polyp exp.everything else in the tank is beautiful but that .any suggestions on placement lighting ect. for me.i would appriciate it

What did you end up doing to get it to grow like that? Awesome growth and PE btw.

pfy333, I just give the GPB lots of flow and strong lighting. Once acclimated this coral can take some strong lighting. It's 12" down from a 400W Radium and two 454 VHOs. I run BRS phosban and carbon 24/7. MH lights are on for 7 hrs and VHOs for 9.

Here is yet another update on my colony:
