Sorry, I should have given you a bit more info. I have a 120g dt with 40 g sumb. After more research is seems the sk 181 or the sm 161 would be a good fit for the system. The sk 201 or sm 201 seems a bit overkill for the amount of water I have. The SRO equivalent to those skimmers is either the SRO 2000 or the SRO xp-2000.

What is the difference from a performance stanpoint between the sm 161 and the sk 181. The sm 161 looks like it pushes more air, but is a hybrid cone as opposed to a pure cone like the 181. Both are rated for the same sized system.

Here's odd video for you . This is a ES-2800 impeller change out . I did say I heard SKIMZ will make changes they see as needed on the fly . This impeller does use a front support . OOPS you did say that . So u can scratch the possible seating issue .

Hopefully all this is old news .

Much appreciated for this video. I cleaned out my skimmer and removed the impeller. I didn't push it in all the way and had this bad buzzing when the air valve was closed. Watched the video and did what it showed and now its fixed! Thanks!

I have the SK-201 with the 2800 and its been very quiet with excellent. Recently the pump has been making some noise so Enrico at aquacave is sending me a replacement impeller. Good customer service from them.

So according to you I should choose sk 201 sm201 pump or pump es2800 es5000. while the price is more expensive sk201 sm201. I need very urgently

I am interested in your product of SKIMZ protein skimmer but I hesitate to choose between the SK201 with ES2800 needlewheel pump and the SM201 with ES5000 needlewheel pump as price of SK201 is higher than SM201.
