Snorkeling in Eilat - The Red Sea LOTS OF PICS

Great pictures! I really love the ones looking back towards the reef flat. You really make me miss it.

Did you get a chance to check out the Jordanian side? It's hard to believe, but the reefs in Eilat have been beaten up pretty badly by divers and fish farms, while just on the other side of the border they've been mostly spared and are even more spectacular.

No, we just stook to israel on the trip. Snorkeling wasnt even really that big on the schedule, we were hiking in the negev desert and in the middle of the day our guides decided to take us to the beach in eilat because if you hike in the middle of the day you'll die lol

Awesome pics Elan. I was there 2 winters ago, and Eilat is now my favorite place in the world. The weather wasn't great when I went, but the corals don't come and go between the seasons, so there was still a lot to see.

I dunno if you saw a little dive shop/restaurant just north of the park there, but they have a hostel upstairs, and that's where I stayed while there. The rest of isarael was so so, but I'm in love with Eilat. I went to Jordan too and dove there, but the weather was bad so I didn't get to see too much while diving. Next time around that way I'm gonna head down to Ros Muhammad as well, as that's supposed to be even crazier diving, though I don't think as easily accessible as the reef in Eilat.

I've got a picture on my wall taken from the window of my hotel, looking over the park there, with the fences around the beach so you can't enter the beach directly. Absolutely incredible.

Elan, did you swim out to Moses Rock (I think that's what it's called)? That's where I took this pic:

The reef flats were some of the coolest things I've ever seen, especially after diving in the keys where everything is farther under water.

And next time you're in Eilat, it's worth checking out Neptune's Tables

I can't wait to get a job so I can go vacation to places like that (or Australia). Or to build a 2000g tank and grow my own Neptune's Tables :D

Thanks again for sharing pics! Man it makes me miss that place.... I've been stuck here in north FL for so long now, I'm starting to forget what the reefs even down south were like. Only have springs and muck flats out here :(

go in the summer Eric!!

this year i was there with a group so we only snorkeled this little segment not even a fraction of the park! I have already decided i will be returning to israel one way or another (most probabley tel aviv area) but Eilat is definately on the list of visiting (need to make more freinds in eilat ;) )

wow....amazing pictures......so cool

Ive been to Israel but it was way before I was ever into reefs. Had I know I would have totally done this.

That said, one of the most amazing experiences in my life was floating in the Dead Sea. But yeah, there aren't many corals in there. ;)
