Did you kill so many bristle worms that it spiked the tank?
Yes... Lost 6 angels a tusk and a pyramid BF

I dosed in my 650 litre FOWLR DT, removed all snails, left hermits in. 5 Squareblock Anthias, 2 Lyretail Anthias and a Regal Angel.
I am at the moment 10 days into treating for velvet, i had lost one SB Anthia before I dosed, I lost the rest of my Squareblock Anthias when I initially dosed with CP, I don't know if this was from the disease or the cure. My male Lyretail was very ill before I treated but recovered after dosing then died 3 days later, my FM Lyretail and Regal Angel is fine showing no effect whatsoever. I lost my small bristle worms but a huge one is fine, lost a lot of brittle stars.
I had a GHA problem and all that died, (CP is an algaecide) this put a huge load on my nitrification bacteria and ammonia levels are at a warning level (badge)

I'm just razzing ya. Nothing wrong with a little bromance.
Ha...yeah right. Lol
Post dip, are you putting the fish back into the same tank they came out of? If so, they will probably just keep getting reinfected. You have to either move them to a new/sterile QT every time (like doing TT), or treat the entire QT with formalin. Infected DT has to be left fallow for 6 weeks.

I have dipped. I'm treating the QT. Should I dip too or just keep treating. What's the best way and for how long?
When you put a drug in DT, possibly it kills off small life forms, animal and plant, and pollute and overwhelms existing nitrification bacteria.
Or CP can indeed harm nitrification bacteria.
Treatment in DT comes with many undesirable consequences, even FO tank.
Does Amquel or Prime interfere with CP?
Quite possibly some people use CP in DT with GHA, kill all and pollute, and then conclude that CP harms nitrification bacteria.
I just don't know.
CP, like most drugs, should be used in QT.
Fact: I've never had a fish that's been treated with it show any parasitic signs.
Fact: All my fish in DT are clean till this day.
Fact: I have pictures to prove it with documentation.

Ca1ore was being funny
Those are personal anecdotes, not scientifically valid facts! Sorry ......
Indeed  though apparently the OP didn't find my comments amusing, or missed the point. Like it or not, this hobby is built upon anecdotal experiences and the 'just the facts maam' crowd will either find themselves regularly disappointed, or in search of a new hobby. There just aren't that many facts to be found if scientifically valid data is implied. Sorry if the OP thought I was stirring the pot just for the purpose of stirring the pot - I was really just attempting to illustrate the absurdity of asking for 'facts and documentation' .... if that is indeed what he really meant. I see nothing wrong with anecdotes as long as one does consider the source and accept that YMMV.
I'm not mad.
Sorry to say: you are! But so am I, and anyone else who allows themselves to get sucked into this hobby. And, for the record I didn't say I wasn't stirring the pot, just that I wasn't doing it just to stir the pot (thus trolling). My point really only was that there is a lot of knowledge to be had from experienced reefers even if much of it does not meet the standard of 'facts and documentation'. But I'm repeating myself ..... Which, by the way, is another sign of madness![]()
Just a bit more info about using CP. If you are going to test for Ammonia and you have CP in the tank it will show a false positive if you use API & Red Sea test kits but if you use Salifert it will read correctly. This was tested against a Seachem badge, I had a heart attack when the first 2 tests said I had 2 ppm of ammonia but was sceptical as all the fish were unstressed and cruising.
