some questions about my new carpet

Ok I bought a carpet today that is a wierd teal color, not like any of the others that i've seen. I wanted to know if anybody knew exactly the name of it and also i've got it in a 46G bowfront with an orbit 4x96W PC fixture. Will this be enough light (384W of pc / over 8WPG of light).

That would be S. haddoni (haddoni or saddle carpet). Yes, the light you have will be enough.
It is not uncommon for this type of anemone to make a meal out of your fish.

don't lots of people have these? I thought if you had clowns (percs) that naturally hosted in them, you didn't have to worry about that.

S. haddoni is not the natural host of A. percula or A. ocellaris, and known to eat these clowns sometime.
Most people who have haddoni carpet in reef tank lost some fish including some very large fish, to the carpet. Essentially all the fish stung by the carpet will die even if it initially got away. I think it is best to keep these anemones in very large tank, or else keep them in species tank.

Yes lots of people have them. No they aren't a natural host for percs false or true. They are fish eaters. Keem him well fed. Your clowns may host it and not have a problem but as with all things reef there are risks :)
