Some shots of Ireland

My wife and I recently took a trip to southeast Ireland. We had initially intended to spend the majority of the time within Dublin, however quickly found out the countryside was where we had the best time.

My wife, Jessie, trying to stay patient during our travel.

As soon as we got there, we had a beautiful sunny day (which I hear is rare in these parts)

And, of course, spent some time frequenting the old pubs of Dublin.

On our second day, we took a tour out to Glendalough and never looked back.

The day after our tour, we decided to rent a car, and that was an experience to say the least. But it gaves us the freedom to see all the County Wicklow had to offer.

The Wicklow Gaol - A great experience!

And, lastly, our bed and breakfast with the most amazing view!!

We had the most amazing time and it was the shortest 5 days ever!! We can't wait to go back and take a longer holiday to see the whole island, but Wicklow's charm was great (not to mention the Dublin pubs).

If my load of pics wasn't enough for you, there's even more in my Flickr account at www.flickr.com/inlimbo87

Nice series. I always thought Ireland would be a wonderful place to visit and your pictures prove it. Well done.

Very nice pictures.

What is with the blue sheep?

Farmers mark their sheep so they are not stolen/mixed up with other farmers' sheep. They typically due it with a blue paint.

:D

Gotcha. I thought they rubbed up against that blue fence when the paint was still wet.

That would've made a much better story

Great pics! Looks like you really lucked out on weather. Wicklow county is beautiful and fun to drive, once you figure out how to drive on the opposite side of tightly curving 3' wide roads!

3' is plenty of room for a car and a coach bus

I have been in the Atlantic ocean many time, but never crossed it. Ireland is certainly on my life's to-do list.

Plane tickets are amazingly affordable right now!

I have family in Ireland and N. Ireland and have visited many times. During one memorable trip, we hired a car and drove from Belfast to Cork, staying in B & Bs along the way. Your pictures captured some of Ireland’s incredible scenery.

I already have some college road trips planned this summer! After I graduate I want to work at a ski slope for one season. Surely they have waiter or bartender positions and I could ski for free/greatly reduced. Having been surfing 17 years but never seeing snow in my lifetime, that is just something I have to do. Seeing Europe, Australia, and Japan is another dream of mine tucked away for later.

Great pics.

What kind of camera did you use and what lenses? I visited your flicker account and you have just great pics..... congratulations.... I hope that I can be a good photographer just like you….

Thank you for your kind words!

I can suggest the book "Understanding Exposure" by Bryan Peterson as a good jumping off point in your learning.

These were shot with my Nikon D80 and either my Nikkor AF-S 18-70mm f/3.5-f/4.5, or my Nikkor AF-S 35mm f/1.8.
