SPS Dominated Food Recipe

photosynthesis only provides energy, not Nitrogen. nitrogen is needed for growth, repair, reproduction, etc. Carbon and nitrogen are two different things needed for health and growth.

"There are theories that bacterioplankton convert these sugars produced by the zooxanthellae into usable Amino Acids."

can't happen, different molecules, AA have Nitrogen, can't make Nitrogen containing molecules out of sugar(carbon, hydrogen, and oxygen molecules)

I feed mixes like that in very heavy amounts. I don't know if sps eat it or if something else does. I have found in my experience feeding a very diverse food helps the tank considerably, and either directly or indirectly the sps benefits.

So I say feed it heavy and skim it hard.

Ok, all this food is to large for SPS to eat. I was thinking of trying this, I feed cyclopeeze(frozen),reef chili and mysis, Why not but it all in the blender and chop the **** out of it ,re-freeze into cubes then feed it.Would the blender help with the size of the food or just make a mess...

I don't think you need to. Something else will eat it and it all goes down hill (or poop)

I seriously doubt a blender is going to make food tiny enough for corals to eat. Have you seen the size of a single cyclopeeze?

I understand why some people might want to feed their sps but in all reality there is absolutely no need at all. I have never heard of anyone having to feed them. I've never even see concrete evidence of corals growing quicker because of it.

If you want to go for it, by all means try it. You need to just fine something small enough.

What happens when you have no fish to feed??? I personally love the response I get from my sps when I feed oyster eggs.
