Hello all..I just started trying to get into SPS keeping so still learning alot as I go along. question is. I have a small birdsnest frag that i have had about 2 weeks now, within the first 4 days i noticed that RTN creeped in but now it seemed to ceased. The frag still has alot of areas where there are polys but the base of the coral is nothing but skeleton. Will the coral grow out from where its still alive or do i need to cut it off from the skeleton? any advise is helpful...thanks

with good water, and lighting and flow it will be fine ...

I would lower the No3 though.

is the base getting enough flow ?
how stable is KH values ?

I've had a lot of birdnest frags do that to me and survive. Keep working on getting the trates as close to zero as you can. What are you using for flow?

yes I'm working on getting nitrates down...actually thinking about transferring it to another tank,,,that tank is more stable and has better lighting...flow on that tank would be +2650gph with 2 150wt 10k MH
