So what do you have for flow in your tank?

One vortec, one sureflow1600 and a korila 4. I should be getting another vortec in a week or so to replace the korila and MJ and I have a closed loop that flows through the rock support structure. But I took the pump offline for an upgrade here soon as well.

Yeah, they are apples and oranges in the reefing world. For my application the vortecs work great. for others, they are not practice. I've had great luck with mine.

And the plumbing isn't that hard:lol: the hardest part of mine was I wanted the closed loop in a spraybar, under the rocks, built to support the 100 or so lbs of rock on it. I think I went through about 6 different designs before I built the ones I have now.

I am not good with plumbing... esp with all the holes in the bottom of the tank really make me nervous...

beautiful setup!

how do you find the tunze epoxy compaired to the BA stuff thats green?

Thanks, i have use different brand of epoxy but i find Tunze work best for me. What is BA? Aquament stuff from home depot?

Steve,

Do you know if the Tunze epoxy puts off heat after mixed up? I lost a ton of frags one time using a white epoxy that burned the coral. I switched to D-D product and that never happened again.

I just don't know how you guys use that D-D epoxy. I have never been able to get it to stick. The gel superglue has always worked much better for me.

I too use superglue gel but on occasion I'll need to mount a larger, heavier frag that my Mexican turbos can knock over if super glue is used.

Clint the epoxy don't put out any heat. I have been using it for many years without incident. I like it so much because when completely dry up, it solid like rock...

D-D work very well for me as well. I just don't like it because it make the water cloudy and sometime the skimmer going crazy...

I always use both. epoxy and superglue

Same here. But i use Epoxy more because it hold stronger. I mainly use glue on frag plug

One more toy from ATB. Flowstar 4200 for the return. Im tempting to use it as a CL but kinda scare it will leak due to my plumbing skill :D. The pump pushing 4200gph at 160w... Very similar to the Red dragon 12m3 except it push more water....

Thank you Victor from ATB for the special order :D
