Teclima is soming out with heater/chiller combos.
Should be available in about a month...it's what I have ben waiting for. :D

Dont know yet but I imagine their 1.5 hp heater/chillers will be a couple grand.
They are outside units.
Look like home air conditioners.

wow couple g's he will really need the whole garage then :D. its about the same buying a heater and chiller separately.

I am saving up to get one.
Here in South Eastern North Carolina, the Summers are blistering and the winters get darn cold.
My sump is in the garage and the garage isn't that insulated and is not attached to the central heat and air.

I have a window AC unit I put in last Summer...it helps but with the Chiller IN the garage the humidity level is insane. :(

I went to Jacksonville NC for school in 03 and it was blazing hot during the summer and freezing cold in the winter...

Steve,
Are the Waveboxes housing a unique pump or is it just like a 6201 or something? I'm just wondering if you purchased the wavebox or just a Tunze pump.

Thx,
Andy

Andy, all the pump are from the wave box. But you can use the 6201. It will be much stronger and bigger wave :D. I did one for my friend (Anthony) with the standard wave box and Tunze 6201 in his 265g, he got approx 2" of wave in 84x30x24.

I had a dream about my dog house lastnight (i mean man's room). I can't wait to make it happen. I know it will be very nice...:D

sean what part of NC? im in cary/raleigh. my garage sounds the same. I am concerned about having my chiller in the garage but was thinking there has to be some solution to it.

can the tradewind chillers be placed outside if you build a little hut for it?

if no, then at the very least you could install a bathroom fan that sucks air from the chiller radiator and blows it outside. the makeup air could either be from outside or maybe from inside the house.

i sectioned off a tiny subroom in the garage for all my equipment like sump and filtration although my display tank is inside the house. i dont want the chiller in that little room or in the garage either.

wish I could just bottle up the extra heat and let it out during winter

i have a feeling that, one of these days, Steve will mod those waveboxes and his 6301s ;)

That day will never happen. Jonathan will be the first.

Trade wind is design for indoor and outdoor use. if you check out Bart thread, he has it install outside of the house.

You do not want to run that chiller inside your house. It will be loud

But you will always be Flow-master to me :)

Thanks Terry. I try my best to get as much as flow as possible without having tons of pumps in side the tank :D

thanks, I will go check it out!! installing outside sounds good. now I just need to make a doghouse for it. maybe ill just go buy an actual doghouse

but none of my equipment is in the house. even the 'subroom' in the garage is still the garage technically.

last night I did a coat of the 2part epoxy (its only primer in the photo but looks the same hehe)

Ryan, are you making fun of my future doghouse :D. How big of a chiller are you planning to get? Profilux will come out with the chiller and heater unit, it use the peltier device to heat and cool the water. No compressor, no freon, lower electricity consumption. But it require some upfront cash to purchase :D

Is that your equipment cabinet? Look very nice :D

hehe no offense to your doghouse :)

i had no idea profilux was coming out with a unit like that. I already got a 1/2hp tradewinds.

i am using the profilux controller. hey maybe one day i can upgrade if their peltier device can handle my 400g volume.

i was originally going to use the Geotronic Ocean 900 (paltec)http://www.specialist-aquatic-supplies.co.uk/web/Ocean-Geotronic.htm, but their highest model only does 900L or ~250G. My tank is 220 but then I added 50g fuge, 50g mixing tank, 35g frag tank, upgraded to 70g sump etc etc :D so I dropped the peltiers and went 'traditional'. I could have run two peltier units, but they cost about the same as the tradewinds. but they do use less electricity.

do you have any links to the profilux peltier unit?
yup thats my equipment room. its taking *forever* to finish

Profilux Temperture control are not available till summer this year. The first unit will be sold at the interzoo (a small unit). I really want to get the ocean geometric too but they don't have a large unit available yet. I hope the Profilux are not as pricey as the geometric. There is a thread going on in GHL forum.
