You can use the spectra pure level controller directly on your ATO just the same. Or you could do it with the Apex as well and even include diversion control like you're proposing, but you'll also need two solenoids to do it.

Fun with plumbing. Starting to decide on my return pump setup. Lot's of true unions and ball valves. Pump is oversized so I don't have to worry about the added head pressure. I think I'm going to design in some stubs on ball valves for future possibilities (eg. Media Reactors, etc.).

Hey Allen, I always found that pay extra for schedule 80 bulkheads saves me headaches. For me, it takes me a long time to make sure schedule 40 bulkheads don't leak. Schedule 80 is just so much easier.

While I would not try this on a bulkhead heating a snug fitting socket with a torch then placing inside the pvc pipe in the fitting will soften the cut pipe and allow you to roll it in and remove from the fitting. Nice trick on schedule 80 Spears gate valves if you run herbie or bean and need to replumb

Best of luck with your build. I like what you are doing with the cove. Your lighting is tried and true. I recommend you spend a little more money and get some good ball valves. The ones you bought will lock up and stop turning. You'll eventually turn it one day and the handle will break. I've learned this the hard way. [emoji35]

Going to a plumbing supply to get some better valves today. Got some new toys in the mail today (I love when the doorbell rings these days). Not sure I'm going to keep the Osmolator. I may go with the Neptune FMM instead.

I called Aquacave and they said that they got a box of the flow meters from Neptune. They thought they were also getting the FMM but apparently not. Expecting delivery of the FMM in late March.

I'd love to go schedule 80 but the tank is drilled for 40. The only place it's really helpful is on the bulkhead so I'm outta luck.

Agreed. Bulkheads is the one time where schedule 80 really makes a difference.

I've been trying to get my hands on the Reef Octopus schedule 80 bulkheads because they supposedly fit a schedule 40 hole but I can find them anywhere. Coralvue's site says they are sold out. Looks like schedule 40 is my route.

*Edit* Nevermind - I see now you're running the pump external.

Yeah. I really hate running a pump inside the sump. It's much harder to maintain and dealing with spear fittings and hoses is a pain. Plus, I really like to play with PVC.
