Sweet, sweet sand, how did I ever live without you.(VIDEO INSIDE)

I'll just play devil's advocate for a second :)

Did you not think you would cause some argumentative people to come into the thread with the title: "Sweet, sweet sand, how did I ever live without you" - I know at least for me, I was expecting a BB vs. sandy debate.

Your tank is beautiful. Nice work! :)

I guess your right about that.
I knew it was a touchy topic to begin with.
Debates are good, flame wars are bad.
Seems too many BB vs DSB threads turn into flame wars.

I like a small sand bed, I do not like the DSB's due to the problems that they tend to incounter and the BB by itself or anything else, looks retarded and completely unatural.

Back in the thread you stated you were having ph swings when running bb, how big of a swing was it?

Oh and btw, you have/had a beautiful tank, sand and no sand. One of the best aquascaped tanks I've seen. Thanks for sharing!

The Ph would get down to 7.77 Ph some nights, that was WITH a refugium on a reverse light cycle and a Deltec Kalk Stirrer. With the sand in the tank I have yet to see the Ph go under 8.0Ph at anytime.

Hey SunnyX:

Fantastic tank and video! Everything looks A-okay to my eyes. Congrats.

Bob

Than You, much appreciated!!!:D

Just an update...............

Been about 3 weeks, sand still white.

Ph is now SUPER STABLE, no more crazy Ph swings.

Tank seems to be doing much better now, new growth in some spots due to the light reflecting off the sand.

Great tank and great thread! Thanks for the update. I too like tanks w/ sand vs the barebottom. Hopefully more people will learn that there are many different ways to have a successful tank!

Thank you Greg, in means alot to me, especially coming from such a highly regarded, respected and amazing reefer such as yourself.

As you have said, I also hope people can look at both sides of the issue. You can create a tank a million ways, just steer clear of the "Reef Messiahs's".
