The Chronicles of my 250g Cube (190g display)

You mean your not going to shoot one of those famous Mr. 4000 shots with yourself inside the tank.

LOL I think Mr.4000 has a little more space than me, but no I wasn't planing on it.

Wow! I love the rock work. How many pounds did you use again? How deep did you go on the sandbed? I love it!

Well the sand bed is barely 1" towards the front and maybe 1/2" towards the back, I bought 120 LB's and only used 60, and as far as the rock I believe I have about 180-190 LB's of premium Fiji

and thank you for the compliment, it means a lot

Well I think I'm going to need a chiller, with my lights off I am at 85-86, I'm sure I'll be over 90 with the lights on, you have to love Miami! I'm considering the Current Tower 1/3 HP chiller. what do you guys think?

The coolest i've seen it :(

Well the 1/4 is rated for up to a 260, and the 1/3 is rated for up to a 360, that's why I figured it would be sufficient. do you think it won't work?

Zoos- Im sorry. I didnt know what I was saying, I thought you were speaking of another type of chiller.

This chiller will absolutly work. Sorry for getting your hopes down there for a second :(

It looks great, and isnt priced TOO steaply either. :)

Tell me what u decide on. :)

Sorry again. :)

It's ok my hopes weren't down, I worried for a second because I take everyone's opinion into consideration, but don't be sorry you did nothing wrong :), and yeah the price seems to be right :D, although it will interfere my budget a bit since my next buy was going to be the Korallin 1502 calcium reactor, but this seems to be more important at the moment. I would also need to buy a pump for the chiller, probably a mag 5 or 7 whatever it requires, and I also need to buy some timers and some seios too, but little by little.

"whatever it requires" ;)

---What you mean to say is whatever you want it to require. :)

May give you an excuse to buy some extra toys :) ;)

Gorgeous tank! Similiar to the direction i am heading, 36x36x30... I am now worried tho. that you are having these heat issues... I would suggest double checking your temps w/ a few different thermos. I am not able to see anything on your tank that would cause this kind of heat. If so something maybe improperly functioning. Just a heads up before you go slapping a chiller on. I have dual t4s pumps on my tank now, known for running hot, but i am still well below needing a chiller.

Edit, i am in orlando so i am not far from you. Few hours, i know the temps aren't that different. Also where did you get your tank from. Would definitely like to continue shopping around.

Thank you for the compliment ThunderousTalon, but don't worry about your heat issues, mine are for different reasons, first of all it is under 2 skylights, and second my A/C is not working properly, I have a 2 story house with 2 central units, one for the room, and the other for the living room, kitchen, dining room, that one has been acting up, and it finally died yesterday. I just added four 4.75" fans to it yesterday, 2 for the stand and 2 for the canopy, and it already dropped to 79.1 degrees with the lights off. That is still with a broken A/C, I'm sure that when I fix the A/C I won't have heat issues anymore. Also my skylights have blinds on them, I've just been to lazy to close them, :D I think that will help as well.

Well my temperature is under control now, so I took down my 10 gallon that will be used for a QT now and transferred everything to the cube, here's my GCB and my little possum wrasse, I also added about 20lbs of Fiji from the 10g, plus I bought another 20lbs of real nice Fiji, I couldn't resist, there's also a bunch of little frags, mean greens, fire and ice, green laced clove polyps and a couple of others.

WOW I just joined as a member and I must say I like the cube. I think that you can have a lot of free swiming space for your fish...I don't even want to think about how much money you have invested in the cube. Looks good keep comin with the pics!!!

I just picked it up from a guy who had it lying around. I'll post some pics soon. :)
...but work comes first ;)

They guy who gave me the cube had the stand and everything. The only thing about it I am going to change is that the stand is UGLY. I posted in the diy forum for ways to make it look cool. :)
Its a moving project though. And I will have pics. :)
