For those that are running the venturi through a media reactor, how are you keeping the salt build up out of the venturi? I know the hose from the collection cup has moist air running through to help, but if you change that, doesn't it lead to build up in the venturi?

You would want to use a t-fitting.
I'm thinking of hooking up a c02 scrubber that way.

Anyone else running a c02 scrubber though their LifeReef?

Hey guys I have the 30" in sump model currently with a water blaster 5000 flow pump and was looking at the Sunpole Magnus VSR-9000 DC Water Pump.

2370 Gph up to 18 feet as it has an enclosed impeller which should be way better than my current not pressure rated pump.

Any thoughts?

Hi! So I joined the club with a compact Berlin sump and over flow. Does anyone have a suggestion for phosphate removers that will work in the non tumbling media reactor that he makes?

Has anyone run a LifeReef on a tank around 50-60G? Wondering if it will produce enough foam head on a smaller tank to get efficient amounts of skimmate. I.e. Don't want the water saturating to X amount before the skimmer begins to work. The skimmer says it is rated up to 250G.

For the most accurate reply, I would check with Jeff @ Lifereef. E-mail and phone # on his web site. He is awesome about follow up but remember he is only one man operation. Please do not tie him too long though, I am waiting anxiously for his next reactor production!!!!
Great workmanship!

I've been running a vs3-24 on a 72 gal with 10 fish avg 3" for a little over a month now, it functions flawless I had no idea there was that much kaka in my water.

I am debating for sure want a lifereef skimmer SVS2-24; I have the RedSea Maxe170 and hate the stock skimmer. I am looking at trigger sapphire 20 cube or the complete system from lifereef which is like $1500 yikes. Is the lifereef sump worth it over the trigger system? Jeff told me to go Model B with the SVS2-24 skimmer.

Decisions lol

I had a model b in my sca 50 and it's a great sump. Jeff's work is truly amazing, it just oozes quality. But with that said a trigger cube will do the exact same thing just as well. If your gonna unload the nearly 2k after shipping for the model b I'd say make the accommodations to run an open sump. If your gonna close the door go trigger. Also, I don't care what anyone else says get the flanged skimmer, it's totally worth the few extra bucks.
