hmm need to move something around

 know what you mean, heres my cabinet the ist pic show the sump, the 2nd pic shows the electrics, and believe it or not theres normally a resovoir of ro-di water under there connected to a topp off pump:lol: i had to take it out as one of the gfci tripped, its to the left of the electrics, really hard to get to, theres just no room:D

left side

its nice to see that some one else has a fire hazard under their tank. :) though yours is still more organized than mine.

 it looks worese than it is actually, the white cables which feed the muli outlets are connected to gfci, and the loading is minimal, but admittedly it looks pretty bad:lol:

Hi Michael! Thanks for the invite, I have never seen this thread before and am glad you showed me. I will start my first post with a pic.....not of my DT but my sump and fuge. I will take a DT shot soon for all ya...Dont have an updated one...

Anyway....its a 10 gallon sump/fuge with a EuroReef RS80 that I drilled for a waste runoff into that water jug. The fuge is a 4 gallon home depot bucket that has just Chaeto in it. I used to have bad nitrate trouble (>30)....then ever since the addition of that fuge I have constantly been at 0...Large Bluelife filter sock and a bag of carbon in the sump near the return pump. The pipe on the far right with the ball valve is not the return...it is the the T-off line back to the sump from the return for adjusted flow...

I would normally say something like...."you have no idea how hard that was to fit all that there in a 54 corner stand"....but you all do so nevermind...haha.

Brilliant!

nice to see some water finally in jesse, looks like a weekend of fun is about to begin

Glad you all like my design on the sump....I designed it all from asking questions and looking at pics here on RC....so I must thank RC also

Hey....did any of you ever see that post on here where that guys 54 corner tank broke away from the bottom into the cabinet in the middle of the night or something? I heard someting about AGA corner tanks having weak lower glass.

I was cruzin around here on RC when I was in the planning/constructing stages of my tank. So I came up with this....I precisely measured the distance from the glass bottom of the tank to the wood on the stand. I added a 1.5 inch plywood upper top to the stand which was normally open on the cabinet.(3/4in x2 then cut and sand). The strips are precisely measured so that they are small enough to give support to the tank bottom but NOT push the glass up beyond the lower rim of the tank.....The strips ended up being close to 1/2 inch. Can never be to careful....but I guess I was also bored one day....haha

Man! That really sounds scary as H3LL! If you got your measurements perfect, I'm sure there's nothing to worry about, though.

I've never heard that about the 54's, to be honest. I know the 92's are extremely solid. I've tested that myself. :)

I believe, 92 are tempered glass in the bottom. Either way, its a good precaustion to take, it cant hurt.

Michael, Is your 92g reef ready or did you use an overflow box.

I got a non reef ready 92g that when I move in a few months I want to add an overflow and sump to. I will show off some pics when I get a chance.

ive got an overflow box on mine, i change the pipes every 6 months to ensure theres no floods, my pipes are flexible and the return pump is rated at 350 gals per hour, not a great amount but enough for the skimmer and reactor to do their thing, i also have a priming pump to help restart the return if the power goes out

Cool, do you get good surface film skimming from the overflow? I am debating trying two overflow boxes to get better skimming of the film off the water.

i dont worry about that too much, i have a tunze 6025 at the back corner near the top, its pointed at the surface and the agitation it creates illiminates any surface scum

I dont have that surface problem I keep hearing from people, I do have one on my 3 return lines agitating the surface alil and kinf of pushing water to the overflow box, maybe thats it.

Michael cheats to have no film on his surface, his tank is void of any fish, lol, no film to be produced, lol!
