The slow healing of a bleached sebae

Thanks RHDOUG, I think it is going to make it just fine now to, especially since it appears to be growing.
When I first got it it was is real bad shape. I didn't realize how bad until after I got home and did a lot more research on them. It took a good while for the foot to even attach onto the rockwork where it is now.
I am really glad I got it though and super happy it is recovery and can't wait until it gets large enough for me to move it to the sandbed then gets huge..

Wow Randy, I really love your Sebae. I can't wait til mine gets large like that 
Here is a pick of mine from a couple weeks ago when I caught one of my clowns in it.
It has moved over just a wee bit, but not a lot to compensate for its' growing size and I moved my mp20 over and up a touch more to compensate giving me a better view of the anemone.

It has been a bit since I have added any new pics. With the mp20 in the visual foreground of where this anemone is placed it is hard to get a decent direct pic of it.
Here is the best I could get a couple of days ago.
The tentacles are slowly getting longer and the deeper brown is also spreading out more and has that odd greenish tinge to them. My two larger clowns hover around this more and more through out the lights on period but thankfully don't bother it at night.

Great job!:thumbsup: It's nice to see one of these turn the corner and actually start improving.
Just my opinion, but I don't believe that's H. crispa. That looks like H. malu to me. In the last pic, you can see the thin column and delicate tissue. It also has larger tentacles around the perimeter, than in the interior. These are characteristics of malu, not crispa. At least IMHO.

You may be correct elegance coral.. This guy is still healing though and a few of the middle tentacles get larger and then the clown suck on them and they retract a bit. I think it will be a while longer before I can make a 100% identification on it.
I know the footing underneath it is thicker than the picture shows and it has itself in a nice little groove in the rock that fits it perfectly.
Also, on the underside, there are these small little bumps. Not colored.
I find it rather fascinating watching this little guy heal. It has come a long way from what it was like when I first got it, and has a good way to go yet. It must really like that spot though, because it hasn't moved at all since I put it there.

Nebthet--Looking better, IMO...It's always a great feeling watching a bleached anemone come back around. When I got my sebae, it was very white with purple tips & about 4"s in diameter. Now, over a year later, it's a healthy tannish color & the size of a dinner plate, hosting my b/w clown pair. Continued good luck!

Please take a pic of your ChknWing. I can see where the tentacles are darkening and getting a sort of greenish tinge to them, but not a sharp green coloration.
I find it interesting how as it heals, the internal algae seems to seep over to new areas. First you get the darker color at the tips and then slowly it darkens down to the base of the tentacle and continues on to the next area. It is really fascinating.

Yeah I totally agree mine wen t kind brownish cream all over and then started to develop a green tinge. I looked at it again after I posted last time and it is deffinitely green. I wonder if the color it changes to is based on what color corals are in your tank. I know I read in one of my books how corals basically throwup extra zooanthellae that they don't need... and I have a few greens.

Awesome job with your Sebae- especially considering it looked both bleached and dyed in the beginning- keep up the good work!

I have had this anemone for a year now, and it has regained all of it's color back and has stayed in the same spot the whole time, only moving a couple of inches one way or another.
Both my clowns in my tank run back and forth between this nem and my btas. Jigsaw is usually the one to sleep in it at night though.
I will update with some pics soon.

Well I had forgotten to update my pic for here until I came home today and saw this:
The red circle is where the eggs are. Sorry for the blurry pic. The sebae anemone is real healthy now and is getting nice and purple on the base. It is both clowns' primary home now.
