thebanker's Fluval Edge Reef

Here he is, sitting on his throne. It's the highest point in the tank!

One of his many lounge chairs.

Drained it in the old kitchen. Carried it to the car. Drove it to work. Filled it back up.

Took about an hour! (a major relief after spending a whole day breaking down my old 56G and smelling the sand bed that had been undisturbed for 3 years)

Anyone have a skimmer running on these and what are the lighting options available? I see a Fluval Edge cheap around where I live.... so I am curious

I don't know of anyone running a skimmer but I'm sure its possible. I was thinking of rigging up something similar to the MAME skimmer.

a modifed biocube (airstone) skimmer would probally work youd have to shorten chamber... but then again with such a small tank water changes really dominate. How do you plan to change water in office? transport new water from home?

Water changes? No one has ever told me about this.

Yes, I plan on transporting water from home. With no fish, I don't need to change water a lot.

Oh yeah my fish died.

I drilled the back of my fluval edge to allow for a 2.5g sump, with an aquaticlife nano skimmer on it. Works much bettr than the cruddy HOB filter that came with the tank 2 years ago.

I have ordered two of "MR11 Cool White 10 SMD 5050" LED bulbs. They appear to be the same construction as the ones I'm running now, but ideally will be a cooler color temp.

Since color temp is subjective, I'm hoping that these are the right color. If they are, I will be paying forward the LED's I have now (from SkullV) to another Fluval Edge owner.
