So we can make sure we dont overdose Ozone thats why! Overdoses of ozone can be very bad to your actual livestock in the main tank, thats why its also key to use caron on the output of your skimmer to kinda blow off the excess ozone that could be harmful.

Very little will be alive : below 100 millivolt
Very Bad : below 140 millivolt
Bad : 140 to 180 millivolt
Poor : 180 to 200 millivolt
Too Low : 200 to 220 millivolt
New salt water : 220 to 240 millivolt
Low : 220 to 270 millivolt
Medium : 270 to 310 millivolt
Good : 310 to 340 millivolt
Better : 340 to 360 millivolt
Best : 360 to 390 millivolt
High : 390 to 450 millivolt
Too high : over 450 millivolt
Dangerous : over 525 millivolt
Very dangerous : over 575 millivolt

ORP is NOT why people dose OZONE. ORP is just a way to measure how much O3 we put in the tank. Its a way to measure to be sure there isnt a OD.

littlesilvermax it's a 90g Display tank with a 77g sump/fuge. I wish I had a 190g. Next tank will be a 280g.

about 12hrs later the ORP is only at 158. I started dosing 20mg/h I figure it would be ok.

Tomorrow morning take a look at your water, it will be nice and clear!

NICE AND CLEAR!!?? It's GONE!!! I DON'T SEE IT ANYMORE!!! WOW!!! AND THAT IS ONLY 1 DAY LATER!!

Update on the ORP reading: 240

Ok it's very late and I'm real tired. I'm gonna read the other 11 pages that I didn't. But can anyone tell me if it's ok to dose Iodine with the use of an ozoneizer (sp)? I have one but have been warned by several people not to run it if I dose iodine. I currently have it off just in case, and I'm also looking for a good ORP controller.

TIA

Red Sea AquaZone Plus / Deluxe Ozonizers

I am looking into getting a Red Sea AquaZone Ozonizer... When I was looking I found a Plus and Deluxe ver... What is the main difference other then the Deluxe comes with a Probe ??

Im about to hook up an Enaly here in a few days. Does anybody know if running ozone is pretty much the same running it at around sea level and high humidity vs high altitude and low humidity?

D12 do not dose iodine when running ozone. It can create a very reactive chemical compound when mixed together.

Deuce I have an Enaly. Humidity does affect the ozone production in this type of a unit. Most people run their unit with a dessicant to dry the air before entering the ozonizer. I do not run a dessicant and am aware that it can affect performance and also leave some nasty chemicals in the Enaly units corona discharge area. I have been running it this way for 6 months with no ill effects and plan on taking the unit apart for inspection periodically.

Hey guys . I just recently started using my Sander ozone unit with my G-3 . Anyway I was curious is there a min amount of air that should be pumped thru an ozonizer?

Reason I ask is because I am using an ajustable tetra luft air pump to push air thru my drier and ozone unit to a t in my air intake of the skimmer. I have the air pump set low at the moment .

I have only been running it a few hours a day and I can already see some difference in water clarity.

Thanks
Chris

ok i have my ozonier cranked to 225mv per hr mt orp is now getting to 350 and i run it 24 hrs and all i can say is wow even know i ran a ton of carbon it never was as clean as this.when i first hooked it up i was like what a waste of money but just a 4 days later i noticed a big improvement

If you're seeing results then you have enough air flow. All you really need to do is provide positive pressure on the input to the ozonizer so that it's output mixes with your skimmer intake or reaction chamber.

If you want another endorsement for ozone, at last night's SEABay talk, Eric Borneman said he's been having very positive results with ozone for about a year after Sanjay Joshi suggested that he try it out. I'm ready to go for it, but my only concern at this point is what experience people have with ozone degrading or breaking down certain materials and how to prevent it.

Does any one know or have a link to find out how many watts these units consume?

Mine says 18V 0.3 amps.

So not including power factor (which might make it less, not more) it is 5.4 watts max. That is for RedSea's 200 mg/hr unit w/o controller. I would imagine it actually uses less especially if you are not running it at 100%.

Translation:

negligible!
