I used to use an air ozonator that worked in a similar way... when needed, I would remove the plates and clean w/ a bleach/water solution to remove the build-up. Maybe this will help. Good luck. BTW, it's beenover 5 years, but I believe I let the plates sit in the solution for a half hour or so and then scrub lightly w/a soft toothbrush.

Have you cleaned the plates inside? I'm not sure on the red sea but some have an area where the spark creates ozone and this gets gunked up, almost like saltcreep.

Do you smell any when you start running Ozoner? I just started running Ozoner a week with 5mg for 24/7 but I can smell something weir at the skimmer area. I'm running Aqua Sea 100mg Ozoner. Is it normal and what should I do to get away the smell?
