I purchased an Enaly on ebay for 40 bucks
it does 200 mgph. Works great!

I built an ozone reactor out of some spare clear PVC i had lying around and after going through 2 chambers(inside the same tube) I bleed the excess air into the skimmer (just ever so slightly.

zone is entering the reactor via a mazzei venturi which BTW also
Works great!

I just bought a Sander 100 ozonizer to replace my failed RedSea 50. I read here and in other places on the net that Sander's are pretty good. Cost me about $250 including tax and shipping.

I have used sanders.. Were did you find one in the U.S.?

I used one that looked like this. they are the older type...

I found one site in the US that sells it - they are in california - fishsupply.com.

I hear Sanders are better than RedSea so I am going to give it a shot.

I believe that is the same kind I am getting.

is that good or bad?

I what good or bad?. If you are refering to the new type... I have never used the new ones. My guess is that they would have improved the new ones..

I am guessing you have some experience with Sander ozonizers - I think they are corona discharge - I wonder how long they usually last.

I would guess it is corona discharge ... I truthfully have not used one in a long time.. I don't even remember what I did with mine... unit worked good though.

yeah I am prety sure my current redsea 50 is no longer good - I got it used and it looked pretty old even then. The skimmate used to be bleach white but it is green again. Plus the water in the tank is not clear like it used to be.

I don't know if a lot of people will be able to answer this, but here it goes: can you link a aquazone 200 directly to the air intake of an external DAS skimmer? if you do this, all the air that goes into the skimmer will have passed through the aquazone.

i would assume that ozonizer is corona discharge. The only other option is a UV ozonizer and you wont get that kind of production out of a small unit.

Pretty much no one makes UV powered ozonizers because they use way more power per mg of ozone produced, and the light needs to be replaced @ 500 hours i think. They were basically the perdecesor to corona discharge. So who would go back to a 486 computer when you can have a new one? ya know?

Are most ORP controllers compatible with most ozonizers? All the controller does is turn the ozonizer off (like a switch correct)? I'm wondering about the Sanders unit for a 90 gallon but have yet to buy a ORP monitor and controller. No since in buying twice!

yes they are - my aquacontroller uses x-10 which either turns the power on or off depending on orp. there are many ways to do this - the most basic is just to have the controller turn the ozonizer on or off .

I would go download some of the pdf manuals for these controllers and they will explain - it is very simple.

How many of you guys are running your ozone through a mazzei style injector on their skimmer? The reason I ask is the polypropelene models from mazzei aren't supposed to be O3 safe and I wanted to see if anyone was running this setup without issues. I may just be making a reaction chamber with a kent venturi anyways as my reef devil blows off too much O3 even at the lowest setting on the generator. Anybody have picts of an O3 reactor. I've seen some but want more ideas.
