It depends, on a 29gal average tank, no problem, go Nano skimmer. If you mean a packed to the gills SPS tank, go 9010.

Andrew, your plan is fine but the 9010 would need to be more or less centered to use a wavebox as the water level would bounce every where and while it would skim it would not be ideal and many microbubbles would exit.

Andrew, I prefer the 6000 and wavebox, the 9010 includes the sump kit and that would work fine.
Hey guys - I just bought a 9005 and have noticed that there's a small center hole at the back of the skimmer 3/4 way up that's ejecting water out whilst using the sump kit - is this normal, or is there a plug u need to put into this hole?
