I watched the video, read a page of this thread and placed my preorder for a wave box and magnets at MD as quickly as I could! I have been very pleased with my two streams and thank you again for taking care of my multicontroller. The old multicontroller (7094) will work with the wavebox correct, or do I need the new 7095?
The wavebox looks to me like it should advance our hobby as you mention as far as is needed wrt flow. Impressive!
Btw, don't work too hard!

Eli, unfortunately both are delayed. I posted an update. When the wavebox turns off in a pulse the suction can take in fish so we developed a special strainer and the tooling isn't finished. This was kind of last minute, probably one of the German scientists who beta tested the product pointed out the flaw. The Multicontroller is also a little delayed. I think I said it needs 23 holes to be drilled, but is actually 30 some holes and all that has to be done by hand, the boards are in production already, the housing is the cause of the delay. The new multicontroller is also big, so packaging is an issue. It is about 50% larger than the current controller.

I order two sets of magnet holder for the wave box. Can you confirm if two sets will work?

Also - I plan to use this with an acrylic tank - 211 gallon (68 x 36 x 23). There is lip/bracing all around the top - so I'm hoping the magnet holder will solve not having an open top like glass tank.
Currently there is above one inch spacing between water surface and the acrylic brace. Will the wavebox work in this configuration - or should I call Champion Lighting to cancel my order?

josh,, I believe you would end up with movies of someone mopping the floor,, I think roger stated before that a 48 inch tank minimum......

I am sorry, I am in the midsst of moving, I lose internet Monday and won't be back until Wednesday, same with phone. Two magnets will work. the magnets are available, next week I will ship out 150 of them, a big shipment jsut arrived. The wavebox should work for you peterlin, and it is suppsoed to work on 30"+ tanks but I have only confirmed 48" because that was all my prototype could do so i wouldn't order one until I get a final version and try it if your tank is less the30". Sloshing isn't the issue, it is whether or not it can make a wave.
 
Does anyone have the dimensions on the magnets?

Mine is going into an external (but built on) overflow, with a long running overflow, about 5', of teeth the water goes through.

I'm wondering how deep the overflow has to be to take the magnets.
 
I just got my magnet today. It is 4 3/8" wide, 4" tall, and 9/16" thick.

I'm about to hang my Stream (6100) on my overflow, so it should fit.
 
I wonder if that kind of water movent could potencialy after a while weaken the silicon seal integrity, after all tank manufacturers are always warning you not to move the tank with any water inside, this almost looks like the water is been moved when you rock a tank. JMO

You should make the time to reread this entire thread - make some coffee first :lol: This has been discussed and yes the life expectancy of the tanks will shorten.
 
i see this application being used in tanks built into walls with end bracing wazoo'd ....... I can even see me having one...
