tunze wavebox in action

It tooks me 2 days to read this...of course this was night-owl reading :) I'm ready for the wave-maker to be out ;)

Roger, how big do you think the waves will be on a 48"x36"x20"? Strictly propagation mainly on this tank. I was guessing 1/2"...

OK, as much as I am sick of this thread I figured this was the best place to post an update that would reach everyone interested.

The wave height is adjustable- you can lower the power of the driver.

Using a branch adapter you can connect as many as four waveboxes for tanks up to 1200 gals. Someone asked me a while back about a 1000 gallon tank and I didn't have an answer.

The new outlet screen is finished and it is pretty neat looking, it looks almost like a landing net section but of a harder plastic. Being so thin the sections do not impede the flow too much.

The manual says it will work on any aquarium over 27.5" long.

I just finished proofreading the manual, that is how I have this info, once I get the revised version i'll let you guys take a look.

Sorry if I am dragging this thread out... If someone lowers the power to lower the wave height wouldn't that lessen the side-to-side effect of the Wave Box and not keep the detritus suspended as well?

It depends, you would only do so if it was too much for your tank and from what I have seen not much movement is required on the surface to move the detritus. For a small tank it would be the thing to do (less than say 180).

Even I'm getting a headache from this thread, let alone how Roger must feel!
Is a usuall issue for the threads where I post:D

does anyone have any info on the expansion module.. not sure what it is.. I just know that it costs another 400+dollars..and no one can tell me what it looks like how much room it takes up what it does... want to order a wavebox preorder.. but I am being told that I need this addition for my 400 gallon.. my tank is 31 high 36 deep and 82 inches long... and they say the wavebox alone can only do up 2 350 gallons... does anyone have info on this ..I hate to post to such a long thread..but figured it would get more attention this way.. thanks,

Ryan

Has anyone tried a DIY wavebox. This guy Alex has a really nice looking tank and has made a DYI wavebox. There is 1min. long
video on his site showing it in action, looks like it works nice. Here's the link http://ealex.aqua-web.org/
Im sure the link won't work since i don't know what im doing so just copy and paste into your browser. I sent him an e-mail to see if he can maybe explain how he went about making it, but no response yet.
He states he's using Tunze streams for his other water movement.

I had to download the movie and use a Divx player to watch it. It's in avi format i believe. It's definitely better than the video that was posted earlier in this thread which was blurry looking. Hope this helps.

Yeah i tried it with WMP to but it couldn't find the right codec. It's awsome to see the anenome swaying with the wave. If it still won't work just go to http://www.divx.com/ and download the player or just the codec. I think it's worth the trouble plus the player can play just about anything.
