Two more IDs

Ok so I have more algae for you guys to ID.

The first one is an algae that only seems to grow in my tank when my calcium levels are up. The second one is a really cool brown algae I used to have that grew like crazy and felt fake. It had all these little xmas tree ornament-looking brown balls hanging off it. But alas it is no more. It just died one day.

Anways here are the pictures.

I think the algae in the first picture is Neomeris and the algae in the second picture is Sargassum.

Neomeris is a calcium based one like Halimeda right?

It has this whitish shell around the bottom.

I think I am supposed to remove both that one and Halimeda becasue they will deplete my calcium, right?

Mel,

If you let it get very large then it might impact your calcium. I think they are both attractive and If I had either or both in my tank I would keep them around.
