I just got mine set-up Monday morning and I'm getting lots of micro bubbles from the outlet pipe going to the sump. My tank is full of micro bubbles now. Also the collection cup got flooded almost every 3-4 hrs of use. The wedge pipe is fully open and the bubbles is just right at the neck section but after 3-4 hrs the bubbles goes up and flooded the cup. Water level is 6 inches, skimmer sitting on 3 inches stand (skimmer inside 9 inches baffle) What should I do? thanks in advance for any help.

what water levle are you running it at? Might want to take the pump apart to see if thre might be a little piece of debris that keeps it from starting on its own.Originally posted by Bill14
The last couple of times I turned on my IN-180, it just rattles around and never takes off. This morning I reached down and covered the input to the pump with my hand and it took off right away. Any ideas why this would happen? One of the things I hated about my old Deltec was that it wouldn't start most of the time until I blew in the venturi line. It's really a pain when the power goes out and you aren't home to kick start it when it comes back on. I was really hoping to get away from that problem with this skimmer.
It's in 8" of water. I'll take it apart tonight and see what it looks like. Another thing I love about these skimmers is removing the pump and taking it apart is really easy.Originally posted by mojo~

So far my new IN-250 is breaking in on my barrel of live rock. I am getting ready to build a stand within my sump. What is the preferred water level for the 250? My skimmer section is 15" deep (constant water level) and I had thought of making a stand to have the skimmer sit 9" deep. I have read here that most are keeping their IN180 around 7-8" but I haven't seen anything for the taller 250.
