I like the sump. In the photo's the green edges make it look like glass.
I'll be checking out the progress.

Yea , I thought that was realy cool . He even heat treated the edges to make it cleaner looking .

nice,

whats in store for flow?, did you decide on lighting?

can't wait until it starts to grow nicely,

sam
Plain return , and a closed loop with a SQWD and to penductors .:D

Lighting will be 150 w megachromes and vho actinics .

It worked with the 250's on the 120 so this should work here .;)

Question on the drain installation on your skimmer cup--

I've been chicken to do that on my needlewheel, as unlike a beckett or downdraft, if the skimmer overflows, won't it just keep on going and going.....until the tank is empty or you notice?

Quite possible I'm missing something, but there's really no backpressure to stop the skimming?

Thanks
John

You right , It's getting installed externaly any way so if it's gonna overflow , it's gonna wind up in the same spot .:eek2:

I can't wait to see your aquascaping - I have the same tank and that big overflow in the middle takes up a lot of room.

Let's just go on and do this now and get it over with. :)

I read somewhere that you can have an auto-shut-off collection cup for venturi skimmers. I just don't remember how they were doing it. Pretty sure it was in one of the wet skimming threads in the sps forum.

Travis your right it's there . The thing with that is the air tube goes into the skimmate bucket and shuts the air off that way . But I wouldn't want those fumes being leatched back into the tank like that .

How about a float switch in the waste container that shuts off the power to the skimmer pump when the skimmate rises to a certain level?

i was just wondering what parts you used to drill the collection cup for the drain fitting. if you can tell me the kind of bit and the fitting used that would be great. thanks

I'm going to ride along also, since I'm not happy with how my 60 is currently set up. Your 120 was incredible, so I have no doubts this will be an amazing tank as well.
