Want to ride with me through my 58g setup ?

You build my favorite tanks on RC!

I am actually looking at getting a 58 from a guy that lives near me. But your tank is definitely an inspiration if I set it up. I already have 2x150w ballasts and a IceCap 430 ballast. But I have been considering just running one 250W halide with 2x75w VHO's. Who knows...but first I have to get the tank!

I just have to drill the bank of tank but one cool thing about the that I am looking at is that it has smoke colored glass on the back. I also plan to paint the bottom of the tank instead of using starboard, this will save me a little bit of money. I don't think setting up the 58 would cost me a lot, actually it would probably make me some money because I can sell my 54 corner for more than I am paying for the 58.

Do you have any plans of how you built your hood? I really like it and would like to build one like it.

Thanks and great job!!!

Thanks man ,:D

I'll get some better pics up for you this weekend . I'm not good at drawing up plans .

Joe...did you paint the bottom of the tank or is that starboard? Also, did you drill the the back yourself or was it a special order?

Tank looks great BTW.

Thanks Troy,

The bottom is painted and the LFS drilled the hole . They had the special drill and bit.

Joe, just reading the thread again and I see that you had plained for a RBTA, whatever happened to that idea?

Mike

Cool, well it looks like I am getting my 58 so I have to start building it so I can sell my 54g corner tank!

I will keep referring back to this thread and asking questions during set-up.

Mike

Oh yeah...I followed that thread since the beginning, I loved his 20H. But in reality, I want to avoid sand and that much live rock.

Mike

joefish - thanks **blush**

macnreef - hey you have followed me for a while. the 20H was a fav of mine but once the 58 grows out it will be my fav :D

yeah i like my sand and love the rock :D

Yeah Lunch your 20 was amazing and ACTUALLY you are the reason I fell in love with 58's last year. But for some reason, I could not find one. Now I found one and I am going to take advantage of it. But it will resemble Joefishes setup with the bb and small amount of live rock but mine will be base rock. Gonna start fresh.

Mike

You guys are going to make my head swell .:D

Hey lunch hows the tank going , you back on track yet ? Somehow I haven't gotten any updates on your thread .

You haven't gotten any updates because he too lazy and blames it on not having anything in the tank...

lol

Mike

I would actually consider Lunch to have a fairly small amount of LR in his tank compared to the norm anyways. Have to remember that he has that open space for his clams and he leaves the back open for fish and flow. :)

joefish - no updates because i haven't posted anything really. i'll get pics soon

macnreef - hey now i want to wow you w/ all the growth SOMEDAY!!!

Travis - yeah i don't think i have much LR either. quite some room for my 2 clams...soon to be three ;) and the back is ALL open for flow. quite a bit of room back there too
