what macro is this? is it gd for exporting nutrients?

technically ANY macro/coral/creatures you take out of your tank is 'good' for exporting.

I just recently found one small mystery-sprout of something similar, but brown and spikier - almost cactus-like. I'll let it grow out considerably before I try pruning it back considerably.

That loooks like Caulerpa serrulata. I would try to keep bunches smaller than a baseball or it might go sexual (breakdown releasing toxins and gametes into your tank, polluting the water).

My bad. With the closer view that doesn't look like Caulerpa serrulata. I have no idea what it is.

it looks much like a Polycavernosa, but i've only seen one and it was red. see what you can find. do you think they look similar to the one i attached?
