That's beautiful, Minh!

I'm impressed by all of your livestock, then remember that you aren't maintaining a system, but quite a few. That has to make it many times more difficult to keep everything in check.

Just reading through this thread. We need to have a network of people capable of keeping large clams that can come to the aid of those who have lost power and are in danger of loosing a clam. Just like those people who do this for dogs and cats. Especially for those few gigas that remain! I would be willing to assist anyone who has a need with generator, gas or even transport and temp housing.

I think it is true. I lost my last Gigas when my tank crash. The gigas survided the crash but I have to bring him out to the LFS. They put him in the LR tank and then put a load of fresh LR in th system a few weeks (1-2) later. That was what kill my clam, the ammonia spike, not the crash of my tank.
I should be able to board any large animal like a large Gigas, Derasa or Squamosa if anybody in the South Texas area need this servide, let me know.

Anyway, here is a picture of my Gigas today. At about 15 inches and getting larger :)

I have not have time to mess with it. Right now I just put it on Natural and adjust the time on and time off.
But I will

My Gigas has now grown so large, and my tank so big, that I must actually put on SCUBA gear for regular maintenance tasks ....

Amazing how that blue acrylic background give the illusion of depth .... really ..... honest ....

That is just amazing I wonder how old it is?

Well, that IS me, all 6' 3" of me hovering just behind the clam. Shot was taken in Palau in 2003, and at the time I estimated it to be close to four feet in length (no clue on weight - 300 lbs, more?). Dive shop would not tell us where exactly we were for fear that the local fisherman would lift it and selling for food. Perhaps the most amazing thing I saw on that trip - and I saw a lot of amazing things.
