Wife wants a red fish

sea apple, though toxic as all get out, once established and happy, if you can keep them fed, they are brilliantly colored.

How about a Candy Cane hogfish?

Thank you for the replies.

We picked a red goniopora for now. I am still looking into the soldierfish SDguy suggested, if I can get a small one I am 99% sure I am get it.

Cannot do shrimp, anyone of the Halichoeres wrasses in the tank would have a nice colorful meal.

Linespots are beautiful. I had one, he was always out. And I totally forgot about them-this is a great choice. Looks like I will have a few more additions soon. I'll just blame her for this.

That's a good looking fish. I have never seen one in person.

I'm starting to get too many options now. It may turnout to be the first fish liveaquaria gets back in stock out the ones given on this thread.

flame hawk, flame wrasse, flame angel, assorted gobies that are red. Red Acans, red Zoanthids etc can also add that red flare. If its a reef i'd go with flame hawk or flame wrasse.

I have a pinstripe wrasse I got free and he grew on me lol pretty cool fish gets along great with my Melanarus and makes a cocoon to sleep which is pretty cool to watch

They seem not very active. They must be great fish because everyone that I know that has one has nothing but praise for them. I just don't see it.

+1 on the Flame Hawk. They may not grab you at first sight but they really do have a great personality and are active in a different but unique way. Instead of constantly swimming back and forth they bounce from rock to rock, perch, look around, and then move again. Mine is always on the move to a different place. He covers the entire water column in my tank too. I like the fact that he has a different type of activity pattern than my other fish. It adds some diversity to the tank. I had guests over the holiday and people really enjoyed watching him.

Great. Now I'm looking for a red fish as well. Some other thoughts:
