Zebra Tang - Acanthurus polyzona

They have been feeding well on pellets in 0.4ppm copper tanks for a week so I decided to take them home today. No fighting for the past 6 hours and they actually swim together as a group. Totally stoked to have them!

Hi, good news! They are adult? They looks adult for me. I had one and couldn't recognize any aggressions against other polyzona. Only the tiny ones fight.

That's great, I think they are adults at 4+" each. I asked for small ones but that's what the supplier sent. They are still getting along together. Last night the black tang was showing them who's boss but no blades involved
 
Got a 5" zebra coming next week. After QT it's going into my 6' frag tank. Not taking any chances with it getting the newcomer treatment; or killing my Achilles. Frag tank also has a but of an algae problem so hopefully it's as good an algae eater as the convict.
 
My 3 started fighting after 3 weeks of peace. It got quite bad till I thought I would lose one. Then as suddenly as it started it stopped and all 3 are at peace again. all 3 are still eating well.

In other news, I have 2 small tigerpyge coming tomorrow :)

Looks like I may be able to form a trio with the tigers too, if all survive :)

For now, I'm just glad that the zebra tang infighting has stopped and that none perished during the war!
 
My polyzona arrived today. Looked a bit rough coming out of the bag, but recovered nicely. Not thin at all - as is often the case with the regular convict. Does appear to behave a lot like the latter. My convicts have always been absolute pigs, and this one is already eating enthusiastically.
 
So far so good. Eating anything and everything. Goes bonkers when I walk past the tank just like my regular convict used to.
 
Good news, I have a spawning pair of polyzona right now. This evening after Centropyge interrupta finished spawning polyzona make a big cloud!

To breed tangs is for a hobbiest impossible.

Hope to get more angels spawning. Holacanthus clarionensis, Chaetodontoplus conspicillatus, Apolemichthys arcuatus, Centropyge collini. When this happens I will find somebody who will breed. Is angels come to me medium or adult never spawn. Only if they arrived tiny they spawn at me.
