Sahin is right Dom, you should set it up exactly how you want it buddy so if you want to move the overflow i'll give you a hand. Drilling new holes never makes me nervous - especially when it's someone else's tank...........
Seriously though, if you want to move the overflow i'll show you how to remove the old one without scratching the side panel and drill the tank for you if you're nervous about having a crack at it yourself.

Nice! Upgrades are always NICE! You're lucky to have biggles nearby. I wish i knew someone like him around my neck of the woods. Ill have a surplus of red meat and courage juice on hand to bribe them to come over every weekend just to tinker.

It's going to be a real slow build! I'm planning on doing something similar that Scotty did with the entrance reef in that I'll pre-cycle the rocks for a month or two with Bak and some phos remover so that they're basically as clean as you can possible imagine before they go anywhere near the tank!
I'm going to use the time really wisely and create everything exactly as I want. A large focus for me is going to be the stand layout with regards to accessibility as my current stand is **** for doing anything inside it :deadhorse1: Sump layout will be really simple and basic but as practical as possible
The overflow is something I definitely want to change, while it wouldn't bother me all that much it would be excellent to have a ghost overflow or something that is minimal and completely out of the way so that I get all that space back again!!
There are some drop dead gorgeous and amazing sumps that one can get in the US but in Aus it's pretty much all just standard glass sumps built by whoever haha basically for me it just needs to be:
skimmer > live rock > return
With the zeo reactor in what ever section I think it will be best! The live rock will not be lit either so a cryptic area, might try and get some cool sponges and such!
The stand, I would like to get a steel or aluminium frame as that would be best and most space efficient and they would look a little nicer in tying into the room the tank will be located in but I'll need to do some sourcing and pricing to see what turns up!
Either way it's going to be a nice slow, well thought out build and I'm going to make everything as silent as possible. Overflow in particular!

I might take you up on that lol, I got some plans from a mate about a ghost overflow and it looks pretty nice but I'm going to do a little more research on it

I am extremely lucky having such a knowledgeable reefer willing to give me a hand
It makes a HUGE difference and really does help out a lot! I'm extremely grateful for all the help and frags I've been given so far as it is!

Looking forward to the new tank, will we get a new build thread? Those lights still got you all stoked over there? Your corals are probably already popping, especially in areas where LEDs shaded, more pics please
Me too Perry! Yep, tank will get it's own thread which I will start when I pick the tank up on Monday!
haha don't you know it! I'm still loving the halides and the Radium in particular :inlove: I'm definitely getting better growth and much more colour appearing in areas that were once shaded
I'll see how I go over the next couple of days and try to get some more pics!

Yep, definitely looking forward to a new tank and yep. The new tank will be zeo with a much higher fish stock too, I want to pump a little more into the tank without additives
Growth changes yes and colours haven't actually changed as much as I thought they would but they've done what I expected. I'm not getting any wowee new colours as I already had good colours but all the colours I have strengthened and deepened and the spread of the colours is much greater! I think once I get my Mg back to respectable levels we should see a little more improvement again. But the colours are looking fantastic! I'll have to do some comparison shots as it's hard to tell what the difference actually is as I've watched it happen slowly
