Sorry for the late responses guys but i was stuck at work and things to do in the tank:beer:
Hee hee, a fish with a face only his mother could love!
lol,i bet even his own mother would have difficulty loving him now mhucasey
I think now his tragedy is complete
Having said that i'm still very happy that it didn't cause any serious trouble to him.He eats normally without any problems....except from big balls of course, who makes his life hard when i feed
Advise to you find coupons!!
Y remove the sand ?
Due to my crazy flow I have a bald mullet sand bed lol
business In the front (bare)
Party in the back (1"-/+) :-D
Tower glass?? I don't know what your Talking about . If your talking about the white return pipe You won't notice that in a little while your eyes will be directed to your corals ;-)
I was talking about my overflow tower arlin and the glasses it was built with
I finally removed them.It was easier than i was expecting(thank god because i had already spend a lot of time removing sand).
You are right, now my eyes hit the pipe all the time but i still prefer it from the tower.Plus now big balls has more room to swim, even if that extra space is not that big
Yes my friend ,i removed sand again and boy what dirt that shallow bed had!!!!
And it was only 1 cm-2 cm tops- deep!:hmm4:
Thanks for the support buddy regarding the pipe:beer:
Mike...going bare bottom again..? I have a sanded tank now...but I miss the bare bottom...relentless flow...miss that.
However I have noticed a much larger and viable population of critters in a sanded tank.
Why do you want to change?
Yes my dear friend,i relapsed again
That's what i missed too.I was a bit restrained flow wise.Plus i thought that using bigger size would help having strong flow but that led to having coraline algea on my sand. That i didn't like, plus it was like BB in the look but without it's advantages
Sahin you can't imagine how much dirt it had in there.I was expecting some but not that much.It was relatively new(8-9 months) and i had i sand sifting star in there.
Maybe i'll put some back in the next few months. Not sugar size but surely not something that will get coraline on it
Mike, just remember that stability is important, removing the sand bed, even a shallow one, is a big destabilizer for the tank. Be careful!
Thanks for the advice mhucasey!
You are right!Stability is very important.
Removed half of it 4-5 days ago and tomorrow i'll take out the rest.
Until today everything looks good.
I love the clean look of a bare bottom, especially when it's clean
Will get some pics when i've removed the rest
