a simple sps tank

whats so bad? that's a legit question .

i love the aquascape! i think the bare bottom works well with the rock work.

what are you looking to improve?

honestly i'm having like this annoying fuzzy "algae" on my rocks that's driving my crazy.
i think my next step is scrubbing a few rocks.

Mike, the tank looks really good! We still need to work on your camera skills but the scape and the bare bottom do indeed look really nice!!!!

So after these inhumane posts:lolspin: and pressure i'll show you how bad the tank looks:(
Couldn't you wait until it's a bit nicer huh?

OK Mister, now that looks bloody awesome. The scaping is awesome. The corals look pretty good; I can see blue/green/pink/purple corals...

Whats all this nonsense about looking bad? I think too much Xbox has damaged a few brain cells...please reduce Xbox playing hours significantly for the sake of your health.

You are also disqualified from the Brown Acro Club. Brown acros my ar$*! I can see too many colours in there; you do not qualify for brown acro club status. Biggles still retains his green Acro dominance Presidency.

I agree with you mate. If only he spent as much time with the camera for our benefit rather than wasting time on that useless Xbox he'd be winning prizes photo of the month...and we'd be seeing eye candy SPS shots.

With regards to the stupid algae, just keep the parameters stable, carry out weekly 20% w/c's, run GAC (and GFO if PO4 is higher than 0.05ppm) and really beef up the CUC. It will go away. I still have tiny bits in my tank and on some days seem worse if I feed a bit more...but otherwise I dont care for the algae being in the tank. As long as the corals are looking happy, the CUC can deal with the algae.

Thats better:

Mike it's funny that people redo your images. Dont you wish they would do something really helpful like feed your fish and do your water changes:lmao: Tank and corals looking good.

Tank is looking good! As others have mentioned and I might have already said in this thread, amazing aquascape. When this thing grows out, it will be awesome!!

Man Mike what brown acros are you talking about ..mine looks more brown than yours..looking good stop worrying so much..hey you got the new exo zombies on MW xbox1.

Thank you arlin, glad you like it buddy!
I really hate that algea and i want the colors to improve.:(

I was thinking to do the same but i can't decide if i'll do it in the tank or outside.
Tomorrow i'll buy two more dolabellas and i hope they will do the job.
In the past few days it was worse but now it's pale and easier to remove.
Still can't find what triggered it.The only things i did,was change my pellets and remove the sand. Can't think of something else atm

True buddy, still need lots of work there:(
Really glad you like it!
Still needs a looot of time to become what i want/wish

Lol,lol,lol with the xbox comments!:lmao:

Really happy you like it,it means a lot and gives me courage:beer:

Colors still need a lot of improvement.Plus growth rate has slowed lately.
That algea has something to do with it but can't figure out how and why.

Still stuck in that brown acro club but trying hard to get out of it:uzi:
Thank you so much for that pep talk:love1:

Because of my colors i'll play dead regarding biggles and say nothing:p
Whatever i say i'm sure he will use it against me!

Thank you very much for the advice buddy:beer:
No3 and po4 are dead zero and tests are new.
If i was smarter as soon as i saw that i'd do what you said about the CUC but i underestimated her because i've never had serious problems in the past even though i had 0 CUC in there.
Corals are still fine but i must thank my hands for that:bum:
Whenever i saw her closing up on them i got my hands wet!

Thanks again my dear friend!

I know chris and i'm so indebted to them! They are so nice and understanding:beer:
Promise i'll do it my self one day....;-)
lol with the WC and feeding corals.
I wish they would come to my place not for these things but to spend some time together, that would be nice!
Thank you my friend and happy you like it:thumbsup:

Thank you cFloor buddy!
Every time i'll have that twitching to change it i'll read that post:beer:
I can't wait to see it with full grown corals but that is long way ahead...wish i'll make it there!

awesome scape, awesome coral placement and awesome achilles.
Thank you ryan, glad you like it my friend!
Tbh i'm thinkin of removing that big guttatus on the right and do some "branching":p

Man Mike what brown acros are you talking about ..mine looks more brown than yours..looking good stop worrying so much..hey you got the new exo zombies on MW xbox1.
You are right buddy, maybe i worry too much:beer:
If i manage to get rid of that algea for good i'll be more relaxed:(
Glad you like it!
Now there is my man regarding cod:bounce3:
No i still haven't but my xbox buddies told me there are awesome.True?

Fantastic! That tang is definitely a beauty :) Love the scape, my old scape was similar to this, but with the branching pieces of rock you have, you've got a much better layout for SPS to prevent shading. Looking forward to what it looks like when all grown out.

Thank you very much jordan:beer:
Really glad you like it buddy,it means a lot!
Hope i'll get it there too:o
That tang is my biggest love and i'm really lucky i can have it in my tank:inlove:

Mike, I'm curious, which salt are you using?
You put me into thoughts now buddy:hmm2:
I used to use tropic marine pro but for the last year or so, i changed to reef crystals.
Think that has anything to do regarding algea?

And what camera are you using?
(No pun intended :-) I know it's. A sensative subject lol)
:lmao::lmao:
Too late arlin...i'm sad and offended now!
I use a humble nikon coolpix l25

I think it looks pretty prefect like it is and wouldnt change a thing, just let dem SPS grow out.
Thank you ryan for keeping me restrained,it's so hard to do it by my self:)
I just wanted to have one less green coral in there...biggles has nothing to do with it i must say:p

Ahh, that's where it gets tough, right Mike?;). The tinkering bug is hard to tame!
Soooooo hard my friend!
That's why i put so much time into xbox which sahin mocks soooo much,in order to keep my hands occupied and not in the tank:p

 i knew i was going to get in trouble lol.

I've tried TMP . I was not a fan due to the inconsistency but that's another story..
