a simple sps tank

Tank is looking really good, love the moorish idol as well. Keep it up!
thanks josh, glad you like it my friend:beer:
Yeah that moorish is a fish with so much personality!
Still miss an achilles though:(

I guess what you see as brown, I see as pale and lacking colour intensity.. You should try feeding more for a month and see if you see any change in the corals.. Just as an experiment.. I could be wrong.. I'm only looking at photos.. Real life would be more revealing.
Can't hurt.. Besides creating a bit more algae....
You might be right here buddy,i'll try it for sure to see what'll happen.
The algea problems i was facing a few months ago made me a little scared regarding throwing too much food in there.
I'll start feeding more:thumbsup:
Maybe 3 cubes of pappone per week instead of the one i use now.

MIke your scape is so awesome!! It just looks really reall cool and would allow you to get some seriously awesome flow blasting around! :) The acro's are looking healthy with some strong polyp extension going on :) Love the "shark" photo of the acro just hitting the surface too!

I have to say, I would agree with Matt, have a go at a little more feeding over the next month and see what happens :) Have you ever tried any aminos or foods like that in the tank?
Thank you so much dom my friend:beer:
I sure appreciate your kind words and they do mean a lot!
Don't know why but i love that "shark" pic too!

You're probably right guys,i'll start feeding more and see the results.
I'd be very happy with just a bit better colors.:sad2:
As for aminos i use seachem fuel sometimes.Maybe i'll throw some more from that too.

Thanks again guys:beer:

Mike, there is a lot of anecdotal evidence that low or not balanced nutrients can cause algea issues and sometimes... Sometimes, adding more nutrients will actually feed beneficial bacteria and/or balance the nutrients allowing the good bacteria to outcompete the bad, thus reducing overall algea in the tank..
Phew.. Did that make sense?
I would suggest the pappone alone. If you begin both, you may be over doing it and if your corals start looking better, you won't know which addition made them happier..

I hear you buddy,it made perfect sense!beer:
Have thought of it too but was always scared to go that way because of the algea fear:p

Increased feedings and waiting to see what will change:)

That thing looks awesome! Looks like a true underwater seen ... I just don't remember ever hearing good music while underwater. :D

lol,did you prefer the humming from the vortech?:p
I put so much effort to get rid of it....newbie in video editing too:(

Thank you buddy, really glad you like it and appreciate it very much:beer:
Next time i'll try to get a better result and maybe some pics too.
These 5 hours that the sun hits the tank are my favorite part.

Mike I love that video!
Your bb, minimalist, mature growth reef is fantastically unique and just plain super cool!!
Very neat with the natural sunlight.
Makes the tank look so natural.
So, A+ for style, eashtetics and execution!
Now, we need the same video with reef lighting and no pumps going for top marks in pure reef porn.
Mike, if I could pull an aquascape of the Internet to recreate in my tank, it would be yours. Seriously, it's really cool..
Of course, I'd do it in an 8 foot by 3 foot tank.. Gotta go buy a lottery ticket...

wow buddy, thank you soooo much for your kind words:love1:
It means so much and appreciate it big time:beer:

Tank still has a lot of distance to go through,in order to become like your tanks matt but i hope one day it will get there:o
Really glad you liked the vid too!You know how bad i'm with the cam in my hands:p
It was a quick and sloppy one but i thank god,at that time of the day i'm almost always in the house,so i'll make another attempt soon again.

Yeah you're right,i'll try in the next vid to do what you said.Lights, flow, etc
I'm not able to create reef porn yet,i leave that hard work to you guys:p
The only thing i like already is the aquascape too.
As the corlas grow they make their own scape and i'm curious to see what they will come up with:)

yeah that lottery ticket is necessary for that size of tank.I'm sure we are crazy(or stupid:p ) enough to spend 100% of it in the hobby:bounce3:

Thank you so much again,my dear friend, for your kind words:beer:

Mike,
The tank is so clean and the corals are getting very colorful, I simply love your scape, as the corals continue to grow, the scape is looking even sweeter! Love the new updates and pics, keep them coming :)

That video was really cool! Excellent job. I agree with reefmut, just an awesome aquascape. Beautiful tank!

That video is really cool, it shows off how awesome your aquascape is. I can't wait to see those stags start intertwining with each other. Really awesome video, I would love to see another in the future.

Thanks josh, for sure i'll try to make one more:thumbsup:
As the corals grow i like more and more the aquascape too.Hope they'll continue growing like this!

I love the tank! I can't wait to see how it progresses.
Me too buddy, can't wait for that too.I only see the difference in growth, when i'm away for a weekend or a week. That's when i know things are doing ok.
Oh and when my test results, are where they are supposed to be,lol

Again, big thanks to you guys for your kind words:beer:

The video was awesome Mike, that reef scape is crazy cool and always captures my attention. :)
Thanks my dear friend, glad you like it:beer:
I'm so eager to see the corals fill this scape.I imagine it will be nice, hope to see it in the future:o

Great sunlight video, really cool looking!

Thaaaanks bud:beer:
So happy you like it guys, makes me try to make one with a bit better quality.

Thanks again,all of you guys!

Yesterday i sat to enjoy the new halo game.....before i could play one single map i heard the sound that the tanks makes when i close the return pump.
It couldn't be a power black out since the xbox was still open:p:p
So my jebao DC decided to die:D
Before one hole year of functioning:(
I wasn't worried.Have one spare eheim compact 5.000(which jebao replaced for energy saving reasons....one needs 25w and the eheim 78w).
I didn't even close the xbox, thought it would only take me some mins to plug it on.
But when we make plans,God loughs so the eheim didn't work either.
Probably the wheel's magnet is broken(for some unknown reason) because when i put it in the plug it seemed to have power.

So after a couple of hours trying to make one of them work....in vain...i decided to spend my time playing,so i put the one of the two heaters on the main tank and the temp controller's sensor there too and left the tank working separately from the sump.
Bp reactor, skimmer and the 2nd heater still work in the sump.
So a good chance to give a good cleaning to the sump while i'm deciding which my next pump will be.
Jebao is out of the picture this time:angryfire:

The only downside is the the tips of the bigger corals are left out of the water for 12 hours so they will probably bleach, but tthere is now problem.I'll cut them and they'll grow back!

I like the surprises that a tank or the equipment, come up with:p
