A Smart? Aquarium in Taiwan...

Yea it helps, helps my jealousy burn deep inside

The branches are so thick at the lower part but the growth seems like a mille. I guess it looks more mille all in all. I would love to get an expert to comment on it and why some of these pieces have such thick branches on sections of them. Thanks for posting the other view, inspiring. That coral could possibly look better than the acid trip mille.

When this frag came to my tank, it does not look like normal Millis for sure. YEs, I also id it as Milli due to its PE, but its colour and less omni-direction grow make me wonder. Maybe someone can chin in.

What camera are you using?

It is olympus tg-4 and shoot in water with its macro-shot option. Hope this help.
Since I bought it, I have less and less using my Nikon camera.

....
Hmmm... I did quite a lot actions after return from vocation, and I probably will breakdown like...

algae and diatom control
1) Light breakout 3 days
2) 35% water change every other days for 14 days
3) use a small pump blew all rock every time before water change
4) off all Zeovit color improvement additives
5) add nature algae control

color improvement
Basically bring NO3/PO4 down to undetectable and take care POM before become TOM
a) Bigger skimmer (from BK double cone 250 to BK deluxe 300)
b) continue do item #2,#3 but once a week, and #2 drop to 10% water change
c) wrap all Tunze pump with filter pad 24x7 and change filter pad every other day
d) turn on all Zeovit color improvement additives

......

Regarding above list, I think I forget one thing which maybe important....

I did replace my 18 months old live rock (about 20 lbs) in my refugium section in June to new, fresh live rock.

The macro shots were made with a point and shoot?!!! that's mind blowing! how far was the lens from the coral when you took those shots?

For above photo, it was shot on 8/8/2016, and most other pictures took about same times or a day before or after....

I did not pay attend the distance but it should be some where 3 cm to 10 cm, and it was point and shoot.

I bought TG4 on day one it available in Taiwan since I saw TG3 pictures from friend and TG4 add TG4's RAW data output help me made a quick decision.

Just using a under water point and shoot camera and produced such nice pictures! What settings did you use? Did you use Auto and Raw? Any post processing edit?
Beautiful corals always.

Wow!! Absolutely stunning, Shih. Beautiful shot.
I love the contrast between the stags and the lower, more dense corals.
And the colors are fantastic.

Thank you.
I also like to have stags to structure the aquascape, and allow little fishes have more spaces for fun and to hide.

The reason to use a camera has raw file output is then I can use Photoshop for easy white balance. It is two clicks to get job done in Photoshop.
TG4 give me crystal clear photo, but my finding is its build-in white balance can't handle high K number well as most aquarium light we used.

Too bad I ask for Pro F, but they sent me Pro Bio F ;-(

Pro bio S goes with Np Pro. No need for pro F.

Pro bio s = zeobak

Np pro = zeozym

:)

If you ask AF rep debora or seweryn they will also recommend pro bio s with np pro and not pro f.

I thought need something like Start3 which is Pro F. Not!?

and Pro bio F is target for small tank. Not!?

Interested, I found AF user manual does not address Pro F, but address in its web site, and description is very similar to -NP Pro. Not sure why? Pro F come with 50 ml bottle, but -NP Pro come with up to 2L in volume....I really doubt -NP Pro equivalent to KZ Zeozym, but one of them (-NP Pro or Pro F) must play like KZ Start3.

why the switch, I thought your tank is all dialed in with zeovit system? This is going to break a lot zeohead's hearts.

Pro bio f is bacteria culture target for small tank and pro f is the carbon source.

Pro bio s and np pro is for bigger tank. They do have np pro in 50ml which is more potent where you dose in it drops.

Whereelse the 2l volume is 5ml per 100l of tank water.

You choose which is more convenient 50ml or 2l, dosing pump or manual dose :)

I have the tg4 as well , other than shooting in RAW could you please tell me what settings you use? Do you set a custom white balance on the camera and then fine tune the white balance further using photoshop ?

If we are comparing zeovit products to Aquaforest then I would say that np pro would replace start3 not zeozym

Thank you for give me the chance to share my thought.

KZ is a very success SPS solution and its technical support is one of the best. In recent years, many RC TOTM tanks build their success on top of KZ system should be a strong evidence. I used KZ for many years and appreciate it help me received both Zeovit.com and RC featured tank awards in 2015 and 2016.
However, routine work and no must-have knowledge to chase make me a bit boring, even I do see my tank performance continue benefit from KZ. AF come in to fill my eager of trying something new, plus AF give user a wide choose between want-to-hassle-free (using component 1,2,3) or advance user asking precise dosing (all additives in separated bottle).

With KZ, no matter reefers have talents or not, I can only share one way to help them success, and sometimes they won't success no matter how hard I try. With AF, I see chance to choose different approach for different users.

Anyway, above are all my guess, still need time to prove I am right or wrong.
