A Smart? Aquarium in Taiwan...

Pro bio f is bacteria culture target for small tank and pro f is the carbon source.

Pro bio s and np pro is for bigger tank. They do have np pro in 50ml which is more potent where you dose in it drops.

Whereelse the 2l volume is 5ml per 100l of tank water.

You choose which is more convenient 50ml or 2l, dosing pump or manual dose :)

Thanks. It help.

I have the tg4 as well , other than shooting in RAW could you please tell me what settings you use? Do you set a custom white balance on the camera and then fine tune the white balance further using photoshop ?

I only simply choose macro lens option on TG4, turn off flash, others just keep as default. Shot in tank instead of behind glass. Then I use Photoshop white balance instead of deal it directly on camera settings.

What a surprise!!!

Tank was leaking for a while but since it drip very slowly (4 seconds a drop), I did not pay immediately attention until a few days ago... I turned return pump power a bit up then it start leak faster. So I called my LFS...

Surprisedly, it was not leak from what I suspected overflow bulk head, but material exhausted.... Thanks God it did not break completely unexpectedly. If that happen, return pump will pump all water out and a disaster almost a must.

Close call! Good thing you caught it in time.

It is important to always take a look every now and then even if you think everything is in order because you just never know. Disaster is when complacency sets in.

I am also looking to get TG4. Thanks for sharing.

Good catch. Agreed, always good to look over everything once in a while.

Thefishguy31, Would having silicone hose for part of the pipe work prevent the shearing from happening?

I can't say. I'm just speculating that the fitting broke because someone may have put it on too tightly.

How is that possible? what kind of material is that pipe?

My guess would be that the fitting was over tightened & it started to shear.

Over tightened possibly

I think I might improper screw and over tightened it when I re-connect lower part after I took pipe out for my pump maintenance. I am not sure the material, but it is SCH80, which much thicker then normal pipe, and the same pipe manufacture provided their products to most Taiwan silicon valley factories, but it is made in China ;-)

Lesson I learn is should always take immediately action when leaking happen (can't believe myself so naive and wait for over 6 months). I am lucky this time, but have to be more careful from now on.

I have not yet completely swapped to AF. In fact, so far I only spent 4 weeks on AF food. Why have not yet completely swap to AF? Not only because I want the process slow, and I have to due to many business trips slow down my plan. My plan now is spending 4 weeks try AF food to replace KS CV, and that looks ok from the result below (see photo below). Then I will spend another 4 weeks to drop using KZ additives for trace elements, but using AF component A, B, C and other special element sold separately when feel needed. If that work well, then I will use half KZ Bak and half AF Pro Bio S, to reach my AF + KZ mix system.

My goal is using AF for bacteria and balling, but continue use KZ for coral care. I call it AF Balling + KZ Care. KZ Care means I will continue use FWS, Cayno Clean, A-Balance, and Zeozym since I did not find good replacement from AF product line.

Awesome, loving that orange piece in the top right. Is that the mille you took a macro of or something else?

Thanks

It is something else. Because it has not yet outperform its PE, so I did not post macro of it. However, I do love its colour.

Here it is....

Sounds like a sensible plan. I figured it would have to be a gradual change.

This one.. I've never seen the colours this bright on this bird's nest... a lot more purple...
29234202864_09ee09c2cd.jpg

It develop really nice colour in tank, pink and bright green, I think it is because of N/P undetectable and even POM/DOM very vert low. However, it could also because it is still a small frag. Usually frag has better colour performance the way I see.

What I really happy about is it grow the shape the way I want, I expect it can grow like a big symmetric ball shape.

That birdsnest is the same as what everyone here calls ponape birdsnest, mine will only get that in lower par and low nutrients. Yours looks great! That yellow tip blue polyp austera is crazy under all that light and I am assuming the copper sulphate helps keep the branches so light colored. Never seen one so light and bright. I do love them with nutrients in the tank too but that's different for sure :). That "wd" tenuis is going to be beautiful. There are a number of color variants coming in that are similar or close to the same as the Walt disney and all of them look great under normal lighting. There is no need for people to blast them with blue led light like they do here. Mine gets a nice sky blue on the underside of the branches and looks similar to yours. Post a pic when it starts growing if you would.
