Beautiful Shih!
All those drag post from the previous page looked strong and these shots are stunning. The corals are bouncing back amazingly well.

Thanks. Now I just can't wait my frag tank ready so I can move all frags to make main tank looks neat again.

Wow, I missed the downturn but came in at the recovery. Good timing! :D Everything is looking fantastic again.

Good to see you here again. It is no fun when downtime. It took me two months to bring them back.

Wowwwwww... The second is freakin amazing! The others are almost just as good. I love thoes shots thanks for posting :)

Great pics shih:beer:
Corals look they are coming back for good. They look even better than before. What do you think was the biggest factor for their turn around?

I know what you could do with the rescued colonies but we are too far:p

Agree with Piper27 above, "freakin amazing" is pretty accurate. I don't think I have seen anything quite like that pink and yellow milli.

The second one actually a rescued coral from friend's STN tank in Jan 2016. She and first one (Orange Passion) keep good PE even when my tank's downtime.

Hmmm... I did quite a lot actions after return from vocation, and I probably will breakdown like...

algae and diatom control
1) Light breakout 3 days
2) 35% water change every other days for 14 days
3) use a small pump blew all rock every time before water change
4) off all Zeovit color improvement additives
5) add nature algae control

color improvement
Basically bring NO3/PO4 down to undetectable and take care POM before become TOM
a) Bigger skimmer (from BK double cone 250 to BK deluxe 300)
b) continue do item #2,#3 but once a week, and #2 drop to 10% water change
c) wrap all Tunze pump with filter pad 24x7 and change filter pad every other day
(iPhone photo w/o light)

d) turn on all Zeovit color improvement additives

I heard from the original owner this one stayed on bottom of LFS tank a while and quite cheap to get it.

Ahh the wonders of reef keeping!
These two make me all warm and fuzzy inside!

Just gorgeous shots..... Again!

Haha... Looks like you found where my anemone hide.

When I came back from vocation in May, there was a few seconds I really thinking tear down the tank. Anyway, I am happy did not make that decision and only lost one coral colony. Note that I still have a few coral colonies not fully recovery. I think patience have to play big role here :lolspin:

I would guess it's a spathulata maybe. Either way I agree it's a very unique color.

Over the last few days I've read through your build thread & JoshKY's build thread. Both of your tanks are an inspiration.

If you want more space in the house you need to be messy. My wife likes things neat & organized so she gave me my own laboratory/workshop/fish room so she can shut the door & not have to see my mess.

Well now you confuse me...I don't know what it is now:headwally:

Corals look very nice my friend. I'm loving this one though: .....

So which one you vote for? Milli or Spathulate? From its color development, looks like Spathulate, but I always thought it is milli

If I have chance to move to a new house, I think I will go for fish room as well ;-)

Thanks for the info shih:thumbsup:

Hope it help....

Yea the color on that thing makes me think spathulata. The large thick branches on the left made me think spathulata as well. We're they part of the original growth?
I am no expert and some of the mariculture mille actually have come in with thick branches in spots. Normally the coralites are a giveaway for spaths but as they grow out they really look different in aquariums, plus there are not many grown out in aquariums for us to go off of either. So who knows, I would love to see a top down shot of that beauty though.

I'm keeping my eyes on this one. Did the polyps have a different colouration prior to the STN event at your friend's tank?

This one was my original since last tank, not from friend's tank rescue. Sorry if I confuse you.

When I moved it to my new tank, it broke to two parts accidentally. The other one did not grow well like this one in same tank, so I never dare to move his position since. During my tank down time, it is not too bad, I observed less PE, but still look ok. It has less blue tip during down time and less golden colour in coralites.

You have very good points.

I hope the photo below help.

Yea it helps, helps my jealousy burn deep inside

The branches are so thick at the lower part but the growth seems like a mille. I guess it looks more mille all in all. I would love to get an expert to comment on it and why some of these pieces have such thick branches on sections of them. Thanks for posting the other view, inspiring. That coral could possibly look better than the acid trip mille.
