Anyone else hate the new RC?

***I like the new format for the most part, but it is harder to look through threads and find the ones you want to post in, or see which ones you already have posted in and that you want to check back in on. If they could change the colors of the icons on the left (the ones that show threads you posted in, and threads over 500, ect) and make them more bold/different from each other it would be much better.

It looks generic, it would be cool if we had some kind of skin that made it RC again - something to differentiate it from all the other forums I visit.
OK, but how do I actually track them? It says I don't currently have any messages tracked, but I have sent emails since the upgrade, and they don't show up.
If the person hasn't read the pm yet, it will list that pm in your "unread" tracking window.
If the person has read the pm and still has it in their in box, it will show up as "read" in the tracking window.
If the person has read and deleted it, it won't be there in the tracking window when you press track messages.
Make sense?

I also note here you said "emails" and not PM's. Let's just confirm we're talking about sent PM's and not emails because there's no tracking of emails.
Take a look at the blue bar just above your post. On the right side are several thread options, one is "Search this thread"

Not how it works on my end. I just sent a PM to MHurley and it never showed up as being tracked. Just wondering how to unlock this functionality.

Do we still plan to split threads at 40 pages now, or does the newer software handle the longer threads better?

I'd imagine they'd probably still want to do something like that. I know another site like this that is actually bigger, 1.8 million members, that splits off threads at 10,000 posts in the thread to help the performance of the database and search function.
Since nobody has answered the multiple posts on it the way you track PMs now is when you're in the advanced editor window down below the submit button is some check boxes. The very first one is Request Read Receipt for this Message, check that and it'll show up in your tracking.So far I haven't found a setting so you can select that option to default checked.
I love the new site, much faster, and just as easy to use for the most part. I don't understand all the arguments that the old RC was "distinct" either. Windows 3.0 would be pretty distinct now too :lol:.

It seems like everyone's complaints have been purely cosmetic which is good news because that means the upgrade doesn't prevent them from coming back if the staff decided to use them. Things like the red box, the aquarium in signature and forum fonts, buttons and colors can all be easily edited in the skin.
