On the inside envelope, near the edges, where the wires go into the envelope. All three of mine are just clear glass...
Gotcha!
Just looked at one of my XMs...my XM SE 250 10K has white sides (no number stamped on it) while my Reeflux SE 250 10K is completely clear with the number 510 stamped on it.

I emailed David last night at around 6, and had a reply by 6:30. By 11:00 today he had my problem resolved. This is a company that stands behind its product. One of the best service experiences I've had!

David Rocks. All of my dealings with him have been very professional and he always tries to do right by his customers.

He has been through a rough year recovering from Katrina. He is truely one of the good guys in this hobby and we should support him.

Hrm maybe I'll send him an email. Yours had a pink hue right or what was going on with yours?

Very yellow on mag ballasts, and very pink on elec ballasts. Mine were much pinker than the pics I've seen of yours. Are they burning in pink?

I've been buying bulbs from David for me and my friends in Iceland and Im very happy with his services.

Here are couple of pics taken few minutes ago. I've had the ReefLux 10K 250W for 6 days now and Im happy with them but the colour might still change. Im running them on E-ballasts from CoralVue.

Hrm... When I get home I'll have to check and see if the whites on the sides of the envelope are yellow at all. I wish they were blue'er, not real sure I like the pink color.

Not sure what the issue is but I can tell a big difference in color between my two bulbs. I ordered a replacement to see if it helps. I have one white one and one pink one. If you take a white paper plate and hold it under each bulb while they are on, I notice the one that looks pink is not as bright as the one that burns nice white. The pink one also has some brown stuff in the center of the bulb. I don't like how they don't match and will be replacing them if the new one does not fix the problem.

Thanks

Andrew

I talked to David today too.

He said to return them and he will send new one's out.

He even let me change the 10'K to 12K's. :)

Hopefully no more yellow.

want2reef- Sorry for not responding to your PM yet... I havn't ordered the 12k's yet. I may see if I can get him to switch them out since I'm not a real big fan of pink.

You'll have to post some pictures. Heck I may go back to the Radiums.

It sounds like David really stands behind his product. But why all the problems in the first place? A couple years ago a ton of people fried their tanks before finding out there was a defect in the outer envelopes of the CV bulbs. Now a lot of people are getting different colored bulbs. David replaced the bulbs back then and is replacing them now. But why doesn't Coral Vue test their product a little better before producing them so these problems don't happen in the first place? It seems as though all of the people that end up purchasing the bulbs when they first come out are unknowingly being beta testers. Makes me kind of nervous to ever try a Coral Vue product.

I'm kind of in that same boat. Although the Reeflux bulbs have been out for quite some time now which is why I decided to give them a try. I may another 12-14k bulb next.
