anyone tried to using Jebo WP40?

I'm certainly a skeptic but I'm hoping this is a viable option for my new 125g I have a ReefAngel for. Its far more exciteing to spend 100-200 for great flow then using my Sicce on a random flow program I used on my current 125 before I got vortechs.

A digital voltmeter is even better because it shows you the exact amount.
There can be multiple devices combined that are leaking into the tank.

I've been told that there will always be a small amount (about 6v) but someone else said there should be none.

If you don't have a grounding probe get one and place it in your sump.
If can save your life if you do have a significant amount of stray voltage.

It basically give the voltage a place to go. (out the ground of the house).

The grounding probes have been debated here bfore on RC just like a DSB or BB tank, with a lot of heated post's. Some say that they will only fool you into thing you dont have a current leak ... Best do a search on them here first...FYI

I know this is not the topic here but I look at grounding probe as a safety measure and not as a mean to get rid of strayed voltages.

Please keep this going for today please. I really want to hear of someone that is having issues or doesn't like the pump. I keep reading about all these complaints but can't rally seem to find someone truly unhappy.

Well I can't say I'm unhappy, but mine started buzzing the other day. I jiggled it and it went away.

Other than that, my 18" tall 18" wide elephant ear leather hates it on W1 mode so I have to leave it on low which is boring. Stupid leather.

I have a hammer coral that doesnt look the happiest, but other than that all my other corals seem like they are much happier. I would turn it down but the hammers out numbered so it'll have to deal with it. I definitely needed more flow from the looks of things.

Thrilled! Ordered 4 WP-40s on Saturday the 13th. Recieved tracking code on the 14th.
Arrived via UPS TODAY the 16th from China to Oregon!. Box looked great. All appears well so far. Not as large as I expected visually. Tunze size. Ecotech features. Maxi jet price.

I can't wait to get mine. Even if I have to replace every year, you still will be money ahead because by the time you spend the $400 to equal a MP40 you would have had to purchase another wetside by that time so you still would be money ahead. Just hope they last a year. If not they will have made a killing on us as guinea pigs. A chance I am willing to take.

with the extra cash you can invest in more corals :D:D

Please explain that to some others here on RC as I've been called a saleman for Jebao and EverGrow. The closest I've ever been to China is Hawaii. I'm just trying to spread the word and some who hate to see their overpriced pumps and lights under cut are.... excuse me, complaining about me selling them. I just explain that there is quality product out here at low end prices and some people just can stand to hear it. :headwally:

I understand your point, but the only way to move forward is to present your position and leave it for consumption. The longer you carry the torch, the worst it becomes. A lot of hobbyist have left this site because they carried the torch too long and it was not worth it. Avoid the fanboy label.

Are we still trying to find negative things about the pump?
My power supply didn't work. I had an extra from my old computer.
Night sensor doesn't work in full dark. I just make sure my moonlights are on.
Too much flow. I purchased the led dimmer.
Every flaw that I have had with this pump has been easily fixable.
So far, totally worth the money. I just hope it lasts:)

I'm not sure what you are trying to determine.
It's been said many times in this thread that the pump is a good pump, there are some minor issue with it that are easily fixed and the only kind of big issue is that Jebao does not support the pump at all. They throw it back to the retailer to deal with and Fish-Street has been pretty good about addressing actual problems, like the power cord is bad. They will give you a refund for it and suggest a PC power cord. Someone had what they believe was a bad impeller so Fish-Street sent them a new pump rather then just a replacement impeller.

The only issue I had was the light sensor didn't work and they would not address that because it is clearly stated that it is not covered under the warranty.

I think we need to accept this is the business model in China in which the distributor provides all customer service and addresses all issues from the customers. With that said it is important to buy from a reputable distributor. FS seems to be one. I am concerned with those who bought direct from Jebao in group buys and from eBay sellers.

Agreed. I even stated to someone who bought the pump off EBay to be careful, because we know it is at 3 parties away from the manufacturer.

If you remember the person on this thread who bough 30 or 40 of them and then they started popping up on Ebay.
So we know the following....

He bought them from Fish-Street.
Fish-Street bought them from some one else because Jebao told me that they did not sell directly to Fish-Street.
And that someone else bought them from Jebao (we can only assume, there may have been others in between).

Some have suggested in all the bickering over Tunze, Ecotech, and Jebao that WP40 owners would not admit if they were having issues with the pump, just to prove they didn't make a bad investment/decision in purchasing the pump. I thought that someone asked people to list any negatives about the pump a few pages back because of this. To me it seems everyone has been more than willing to share any problems they have had with the pump and Jebao.

In China and Hong Kong, a typical manufacturer awards a primary distributorship to one company to sell all their products. The primary distributor then sells the products to wholesalers and retailers. I believe Fish Street is a wholesaler/retailer that is why Jebao said they don't sell direct to FS.

Well, I have 1 so far, and 2 more soon. I already own ecotech pumps and lights, so I have a good comparison. I'll definitely post if they are junk so others can avoid my mistake. However, I don't need to defend my $100 pump (shipped) if it's crap, that's a chance that I knew I was taking to start with, and am willing to risk :)

Ordered Mine today. Wanting to change the flow up in my 110 Tall some. Tired of having 3 Power heads and two returns.

Do current users feel that the WP40 is a good replacement for water flow is dead spot areas? My tank has a pretty high flow now. Heres a vid from Dec.

FWIW, I was messing with one of my WP40s on a scope yesterday. During that time, we were also playing with the light sensor. This one didn't work so well. It didn't appear to be the light sensor itself, rather the connections on the jumper to the PCB. If I held the sensor, or a resistor, to the pins on the PCB, the sensor worked properly. I'm not concerned because mine will be controlled via RA, but figured I'd share that detail.
