anyone tried to using Jebo WP40?

That's good, I thought the wp40 would be too strong so I also ordered the universal power supply, but I thinks this is perfect amount honestly

Did you order the variable power supply that Jebao is offering on Fish-Street.com or another one.

I'm interested to hear what people think about the one they are offering for sale with the unit.

It just came about 10 minutes ago. I ordered it off amAzon just because i did not feel likr waiting 2 weeks for it from fish street.

I am having a bit of a sand storm. Its not very bad but it is a little more cloudy. Would this settle down after a couple days onces the sand moves and settles with new water flow?

I tried dialing it back with the universal power supply but i like the else mode at nearly 100%

Mine settled down, but you may need to re-position the output a bit.
A lot of people are saying they like the ELSE setting better.

I had it on ELSE until I got my variable PS and now I have it on W1 at about 20V and on the low wave length.

Are you lying about being a liar?

what size tank do you have?

I have mine on else mode at 22v. the cloudyness is seeming to simmer down a bit but it could just be me getting used to it. I liked the W1 but the wave seems a bit much for my tank. I feel like if i leave it will over flow, and when i turn it down I dont feel like im gettin enough flow. Else seems almost perfect for my tank, other than my hammer seems a bit upset about the new flow. My torch is right infront of the pump and seems to love it though.

Im not a liar, but unfortunately no millionaire either

I keep hearing of these bad cheap knockoffs.

Can I actually get someone that owns a wp40 to step up and say that they are unhappy with their pump? Seems the only ones who have problems are the ones who don't even own the pump.

Or just put it another way. How many of Jebao WP40 buyers are having buyer's regret? Please speak up. I hope I am not stirring up something big here but we want to use this forum to present a fair review of this product.

Biggest issue I've had is my power supply died on me when I moved tanks...however fishstreet immediately responded and shipped out a new power supply...other than that I've been running this pump for about a month, had a scare thought there was stray voltage from it..turned out it was a heatet not the pump.

...Warrior says that this post is Legen....wait for it....dary

The only regret I have is that it may be to much for my 55 gallon tank.
That is what I've seen others say as well, they should have waited for the WP25.

I own one and so far I am more than satisfied with the pump. If the durability lasts for a couple years that would be awesome. I am very happy someone told me about these before I purchased the MP40. I am not saying this is the same or better than the MP40 but it is a great alternative at a very reasonable price.

I have it on my 75 and its probably perfect at the factory settings. Since your 55 is probably the same lenght (48'') I would get the 40 then order a universal power supply. There is a link somewhere on one of these pages just google jebao wp40 universal power supply then go the the reef central one that comes up and you can find the link there. I ordered it and i dialed mine back but then put it back to just about full blast since I want high flow

This is if you have sps and some LPS. My thank is probably 50/50 lps sps and this is working good so far for my tank

Please explain that to some others here on RC as I've been called a saleman for Jebao and EverGrow. The closest I've ever been to China is Hawaii. I'm just trying to spread the word and some who hate to see their overpriced pumps and lights under cut are.... excuse me, complaining about me selling them. I just explain that there is quality product out here at low end prices and some people just can stand to hear it. :headwally:

I have a voltage regulator on it and am waiting on a PWM board to try that out.

I have it dialed in pretty well right now.

How do you find out if it is producing stray voltage?

How To Test for Stray Voltage
  1. Purchase or borrow a voltage meter. They can generally be found for less than $20 at most automotive parts or hardware store.
  2. Turn the selector to "120 AC Voltage".
  3. Insert the tip of the black probe into the third or "grounding" hole in an electrical outlet.
  4. Insert the metal tip of the red probe into the tank water.
  5. Watch the meter needle for any movement. Any needle movement indicates a voltage leak in your system.

How To Identify the Voltage Leak Source
One at a time, disconnect each electrical appliance (heaters, pumps, lights, chiller) associated with your tank, retesting for voltage as described above after each unit is disconnected. Heaters and pumps (powerheads) are the most frequent cause of voltage leaks.

How To Solve the Voltage Leak
Replace (recommended) or repair the faulty unit. Test the tank once again to make sure that you have eliminated the problem.
Install a simple grounding probe in the tank to avoid damage to the tank inhabitants. This may temporarily take care of the symptoms of stray voltage, but it does not cure the cause of the problem.

hahaha yeah some people i think are just upset they spent a lot of money on something that now has an alternative. Also some people believe that if its "
low priced" its "cheap". I do know that this is sometimes true but not always. Also this is not the same by any means of an MP40. There are not as many modes and the whole thing is submerged rather than only the blade on the vortechs. You can turn it down with a universal power supply ( $15) This pump does have all that "I" need in a pump. Me personally could not see myself paying $300-$350 more for a vortech now that I have this. I would rather buy 1 more of these if it has half the life ($100) and spend the other $250 on maybe upgrading my lights or corals or something.

I did a lot of research before buying this, and through all of it i haven't really seen anyone who has owned one say anything bad. It is still early to say that these pumps will last but from what I can see it looks better built than my previous pumps.

Great explanation! Thank you.

A digital voltmeter is even better because it shows you the exact amount.
There can be multiple devices combined that are leaking into the tank.

I've been told that there will always be a small amount (about 6v) but someone else said there should be none.

If you don't have a grounding probe get one and place it in your sump.
If can save your life if you do have a significant amount of stray voltage.

It basically give the voltage a place to go. (out the ground of the house).

Please keep this going for today please. I really want to hear of someone that is having issues or doesn't like the pump. I keep reading about all these complaints but can't rally seem to find someone truly unhappy.

Now to stir the pot.

I love my wp40. And yes I do own a vortech Mp40. Hands down I like my cheap piece of crap jebao wp40 much better.

I think those Jebao attackers who are lurking here in this thread are dying to hear something really negative about WP40. So far they may be a little disappointed.
