anyone tried to using Jebo WP40?

sorry to hear that, but you already know this before going in....... my EcoTech MP40 has been in operation for 5 years now......

Well it finally happened. After about 9 months of flawless performance, my WP40 stopped working today. About 7 months were used in else mode on the stock power supply. I tried a different power supply and same results. I can see the propeller twitch when power was supplied, but nothing else. Open the pump to make sure there was nothing preventing the prop from spinning and tried the pump again with no success.

Oh well, the experiment is over and now I'm back to my old Tunze 6025s.

Good for you pinkskunk!

Don't act like you don't own anything made in china... You over priced MP's were only assembled in the USA.

Go post about it in one of the hundreds of Ecotech threads, especially the ones where they're broke - it'll really help those people out, just like it did here.

you want me to start posting threads where people have problems with their vortech's within a year? there are plenty to post. so don't go bashing these pumps when even the spendy pumps have problems.

Hey I've had my car running for over 30 years, but you don't hear me boasting about it on a thread where it doesn't pertain.

Oh wait I just did. :).

Did you go back to the stock power supply and run your pump in ELSE mode? Is that still running in one constant speed? If no, it is your led dimmer that went bad, not your controller.

Yeah, that's the first thing I tried. When it runs on the stock PS, none of the lights come on on the controller anymore and pushing buttons doesn't do anything. It's just stuck on full throttle.

Does the light come on on the stock power supply?

And how many times have you had to rebuild the wet side in the 5 years?

If you say 'never' - you are lying...

There is no need to bash any company or country for that matter. This is supposed to be a friendly forum to share ideas and to help other hobbyist. Remember there are many members on this forum that come from China that may take offense to the remarks being made.
I would also like to mention. I own one of those expensive brands which I prefer not to mention the name of. I also recently purchased 2 Jebao wp60's and the power from the Jebao pumps is a lot stronger. In comparison the Jebao pumps out perform the more expensive brand.
For the price and performance I would purchase Jebao before I would purchase the more expensive brand again. My son also has both and the more expensive one makes more noise on his tank. There are simple cheap modifications that can be performed to make them wireless and can be used with an Apex or other types of controllers.

+1!

I own the WP40! Great buy! Fish-street.com was great to buy from! Shipping was fast too! Great customer service! They will make it a priority to satisfy you!

In my local club, just a couple of us have tried the jebao pumps on our tanks

My system was chosen as TOTM for October and it runs the wp40 as the only circ pump on a jam - packed 90g Reef

The rest of the club couldn't get over the idea that I only needed the 1 pump to get that much wave action and flow... and it's set to 75% (S2), no less! Especially the Vortech crowd... "we want proof; photos don't prove anything"...

So, I had to put up a video of the tank running up on the club screen to 'prove' that it was just 1 pump...

Here's that vid... color isn't too great, because I run Kessils and the LED tends to mess up the white balance on the camera... but you'll get the idea:

And yeah, that wp40's set to W1 / S2... check out the gorgs on the far end of the tank!

I am running a wp40 on my 120 and love it. I also am building a 240 I am wondering what people recommend the tank is 8x24x24.

If it was me, with an 8 ft length, I'd go with (4) wp60s - 2 on each end

If it's too much you can always dial them down

And 4 of them is still less $$$ total than a single Vortech mp60 (only about half the cost of -1- mp60)

I would think 2 WP-60's would be enough. I have a 210 with one 40 and just got a second for it and that is plenty for my tank.
