anyone tried to using Jebo WP40?

First let me start off by saying I own both of the major brands Tunze and Vortec. I prefer Tunze over Vortec due to the amount of noise the Vortecs make after a while. Currently my MP-10 is louder than 6 Tunze pumps running. I am just waiting for it to die then it goes to the trash like the last one. Now for my initial assessments of the WP-40 this thing moves water. It's not dead silent but not noticeable either. After a while it just blends into white noise. I was testing with the TV off and the return off and I could not hear it from a few feet away. I turned off all my other pumps in the tank and and turned off the return. I am glad I did. The W1 mode half way up makes at least a 1" wave in a 6' long tank! That is saying a lot. Here are two videos of the pump running. If this pump last more than a year I will consider a great investment. I am impressed and will let it sit on W1 mode today and see how the corals respond. If you have ever been snorkeling or diving the corals move just like in the ocean its crazy!

You meant WP40, right?

BTW nice videos. That was from one WP40, not two, correct?

Just wanted to share my video on a 75gal and replaced 4 power heads.. Also the night sensor works and running strong for 3 days so far :D

Enjoy!!

Wow! You have some crazy waves there! The location of the controller is very important to make the night sensor work. You have placed it in a location where there is big contrast in light intensity when you turn off your tank light so it works well. People experience problem with the night sensor when they place the controller in an area with ordinary ambient or room light where there is not much contrast in light intensity.

SimonSKL - Yes I meant WP-40 and only one in my 180g tank. In the side video the lower right is the my Tunze 6105 the top center is the WP-40. If this thing works out I will be taking the other pumps out. I am already thinking about ordering another one :).

SimonSKL - Glad you mentioned the light sensor tip...mine was giving me issues I will relocate the controller and see if it improves.

Capitalism :)

Purchasing from Jebao is different than purchasing from FS (wholesale vs retail). At one time I ran several ecommerce websites... Typically retailers double the price over what they pay wholesale.

Buying direct from Jebao cuts out the middleman

Although I was very happy with a Vortech MP40 combined with a Tunze Comline Wavebox in my 75 mixed reef, I bought a WP40 a few weeks ago as a backup for the Vortech. I took the Vortech out to clean it today and replaced it with the WP40 while soaking the Vortech in vinegar. Yikes. Set at 20V, the WP40 wave mode (W1) provides more flow and stronger waves than the Vortech and Tunze (also set at 20V) combined. Yet it is not "overpowering" the fish or causing a sand storm. So far, the only thing in the tank that does not seem to like the flow is a large toadstool leather a few inches below and about 6" away from the pump. It closed up almost immediately, and even after extending polyps again, its "head" is slightly bent over and facing the back of the tank away from the pump. I'll have to keep an eye on it. So far, I'm impressed. I may leave it in tank, and use the Vortech/Tunze combo as the backup.

In my mail tracker, it says "The item (xxxx) was delivered on 13-Mar-2013."

I still don't have my package. I didn't find any packages on my doorstep. What to do?

question on the different volts.....is it pretty clear how to change the voltage rating? I was looking for it in previous posts but this thread has exploded so fast I figured I would just ask.

Just a reminder this is not a GB thread. If there is any sign this thread is heading in that direction, the mod will close this thread down.
