anyone tried to using Jebo WP40?

Absolutely! And it's not a small pump either, might look a bit overwhelming in a 55g tank. I have a 55g QT and I'm waiting for the WP25.

been trying to find info on the WP-25 on the web but no luck...do you know when they are going to be released or have any info on them?

Eric(fishstreetstore@gmail.com) say:"100% wp-25 is a demo version, no further news on the jeboa to produce"

We all know Vortech and Tunze pumps are very good, but there has been a huge gap in products and pricing between Koralias and them. These fill that gap nicely. If we can modify them to accept new controllers, they increase that much more in value.

Lots of people like myself have been waiting for a pump like this. It will hurt Vortech and Tunze sales a bit for sure, but Vortech/Tunze have had plenty of time without much competition.

What bothers me the most is these two brands are never on sale and retailers are not allowed to discount them even when they have big sales in everything else. It seems to be a conspiracy to me.

I sent an email to Jebao asking about it and they haven't replied in 43 days (and I suspect they won't ever). I saw on a Singapore site that they were saying after the Chinese New Year which is now past. So I'm hoping that it may come out any time now, but I have no good evidence to back it up.

It's in an agreement they sign to become a distributor for Eco Tech or Tunze. If they sell them at prices the mfg hasn't approved, they lose their distributorship. It allows them to cut out wholesalers (and keep more profits) and control the selling price so distributors are happy because it keeps their profit margin up as well.

It's a win-win-lose deal. The mfg wins-the dist wins-and the end user (you & me) gets screwed! :strooper:

I got to see one this weekend and it does have good flow, more directional then an MP40. It is also much bigger than an MP40. Everything about it felt cheap so I would not expect it to last long.

Pros: price, some controllability - maybe more if it can be reto fitted to work on something like a Apex.

Cons: size, cheap, customer service, battery back up option and another wire in the tank.

Mine were shipped over the weekend. Should be about 2 weeks to get there, then I'll start tinkering. I may even do a full comparison between Mp40 / wp-40 like I did with the Radion Pro and Evergrow chinese light.

Let's be perfectly honest here. The WP40 by Jebao ($85.00) has a very similar model number to the Vortec MP40 ($465). And they have similar max flow rate of 3200gph. But the real similarity ends there. Sure they are both run by a controller, but the MP40 is very different in the design of the pump itself. That difference is so important as to make the comparison almost unfair. The Jebao has much more in common with the Tunze Stream 6105 ($345), at least in turns of the pump design. There is much more in common here than between the WP40 and the MP40. And the WP40 has an advantage here in the price differential, $85 vs $345. And until we get some indication of how well the Jebao pump is made and how well it lasts over time, it's hard to reach any honest and complete comparison.

But looking at just the flow rate, flow pattern and controllability is well worth doing. I just wish we could include a Tunze in the test. I don't have either and have virtually no experience with either. I created widely variable flow rates and patterns buy using a SCWD and spray bars on my sump return and a CL with Ocean Motion's OM4 and Revolution heads.
