Anyone know if they will be making a smaller version?

One major difference between Vortech MP40 and Jebo WP40, besides the noise (I agree MP is noisier as I own 2) is MP's propeller never stops but in certain modes of WP, the propeller comes to complete stop. I don't know if it is good or bad for the longivity of the pump. But since most people have to replace the wet side of the MP every couple of years, it is hard to say Vortech is better or more reliable.

Simon, I was thinking along those same lines on Sunday when I was playing around with equipment. I was using the W1 mode and thought to myself, "I can't imagine that starting and stopping can be all that good for the longevity of the pump", so I switched it to W2 mode. But now that I spend some time thinking about it, I think I'm going to change my opinion on that. It stops because it has no power, it's not like they are applying brakes to make it stop. And spinning back up from a stop or from low speed shouldn't be much different. So now I'm thinking W1 probably isn't any harder on the pump than W2 or W3.
BTW, have you figured out what the difference is between W2 and W3? I gave it a bit of a look when I got the pump and didn't see any difference.
Yeah but that is a lot to read and I really dont have the time right now. It was a quick question with a simple answer. I already looked on the link to the WP40 and found nothing about a new smaller version.

The pump ran 15 sec in one direction, stopped and reversed direction and ran for 15 sec and so on. The pump ran like that for almost 3 years with no problem when I sold it. I guess it is how the pump is designed so it is hard to say stop and go is bad for a pump.

I just got an email from Eric from Fish Street. He said he has seen the prototype of the WP25 at the factory but he has no information, specifications, and available date of the pump that can be released at this time:mixed:
It seems the availability of the smaller WP25 is not a "If" but "When".
My Korillas have been running that same way for over a year with no issues. I took the stops out so they randomly restart in different directions every 20-60 sec.
Awesome news i'm hoping they are going to be around $50.
I also bought one on Friday and I just got a shipping confirmation email today.

I received mine 7 days after getting their shipping confirmation.
Wouldn't adding a variable power supply ruin the longevity life span of the pump as well?
