anyone tried to using Jebo WP40?

I have two working in sync and its a mini wave. I have a 1600 GPh sump pump that interferes with the wave. Lots of flow from two. These things are fairly large also.

A little wave is fine. Probably better for me than a large one, as the tank is in my room and the overflow might be noisy at night.

I'd just like to get a little wave action, as I hear most animals really benefit from it and its aesthetically appealing.

I have 3 tangs 4-7 inches and they are loving it. My softies are a little ****ed. I will monitor. I set mine up side by side them plugged the power in at the same time. Works good.

Nunodinis, your statement seems uncertain. Can you substantiate this statement with documented proof? At what lower voltage will it "not" shorten the life of this very pump?

Simon, motors are designed to operate at a given voltage and current. Based on number of windings, wire size, magnet and armature etc. I will not be running mine at a lower voltage due to premature pump wear concerns. However, feel free to run yours at any voltage. If you run it at 48 volts, you will get twice the flow.....:)

So I was playing with mine out of the socket and think I figured out w3. Seems to be a up and down but stepped. I think 6 steps to max and then 9 back down to min repeating

Simon you should be safe down to 12V (and anything up to 24V). The manufacturer lists the pumps as operating on 12V or 24V.

I finally talked my wife into letting me get one of these. The one thing is that I want to use one in a 150 gallon 5' tank, would one be enough along with my tunze wavebox (6215)? Or would it be overkill?

Mikey, it will depend on what you have in the tank. I have a 5' 300 gal with Water Blaster 10000 for return and an acuated surge tank. I put two WP40 in at full throttle and I think my flow is fine. I may end up adding more as the tank grows in. I plan for this to be a mixed reef. I think one may be enough for you but at these prices you can get two and see how it goes. You can always throttle them back with the ideas that have been posted or just run them in "L" mode. I have found that these big waves people are talking about are dependent on how close the pump is to the surface of the water. My pumps sit about halfway down from the top on my tank wall and can barely create a 1/2" wave with one pump. I am trying to move a lot of water though. If I move the pump closer to the surface, I can get a 1" wave going.

haha i have coors light in the fridge, does that count as better, has a wide mouth can and 2, yes i said 2 cold indicators!!

No.....

Dennis, thanks for confirming what I believe all along. The pump is designed to run between 12-24v per Jebao specification so it should be okay to run it between those two voltages.

Mine got to San Francisco 2 days ago..... Hopefully it will be here today. Probably will USPS seems to deliver 2 days ahead of schedule every time they are my carrier.

Does anyone have thoughts on how this would function in a 150DD (basically 36" square)? Reading through this thread it seems most people are running them across at least a 48" side. I would love to replace some of the assortment of mix and match power heads with a single solution but I am guessing this would just be too forceful if it only has 36" it can flow.

If you put it two 12v and used two you should be fine. These things are 5 inches long though.

None here. Tested 2 and they are doing great. Love the controller it comes with. Have a nice wave with a good undertow.
