anyone tried to using Jebo WP40?

There was a group buy that Macboat organized. It is closed now.
No one has recieved any yet, but the first shipment of 25 are supposed to be express mailed so that the first recipients will get the word out on how great they are.

I ordered a couple of these a massive local club group buy of ~150. They may not be here for several weeks. I know they are way too much for my 110 so I want to cut back on the 24vdc. My initial thought is to just add a potentiometer to the +24vdc feed to tune it back some or would you recommend going with a new transformer?

Might
Either wait for the WP25, or figure out how to hook it up to a controller: ReefAngel, Apex, Arduino, or a microcontoller of your choice. My two are running at 20-35% in my 105 and I'm getting great flow. They will be replaced with WP25 when they are released.

I only have a RKL.

This could be an issue for the pair I have coming.

There are LED Dimmers online that work to adjust the voltage or you could go with a PWM dimmer control.

The third way is to connect it to a controller like a Reef Angel, Apex, Arduino, or a microcontoller of your choice.

Also Fish Street is selling a variable power supply. this is not made by Jebao, FS is just selling it because they know people were looking for a way to slow down the pump.

So the jury is out....two WP40 are too much for my 105. They are definitely going to the 150 FOWLR when my WP25 get here. The WP40 can run at 18-19%, but they won't start up at that speed. They need 20-21% on the VA line to start, anywhere above the 22-23% and it's too much for my tank with two pumps. I can run one, but both is a no go...too much for for my tank, would be great for an SPS tank. My WP25 can't get here soon enough, would love to have some range on the modes I can run.

Oh, and I just sold my MP40. :D

How about rotating them on and off at opposite sides of the tank? That's what I am planning on doing on my 105 once I buy another Wp40

I'm playing with various modes, but no success so far. It's mainly the way I have my rocks and my brains on the sand, they get indentations from the flow and I try something else. It's an ongoing process. Part of it is the programming on my reefangel, it only lets them dial down to 30% because that's where the Tunze's cutoff at and that's what this portion of code was designed for. I'm going to modify the code, just being lazy b/c I don't want to hook the laptop backup to the RA right now. With the WP25s, 30% won't be a problem.

be aware of fish-street. They are scammers. I know a ton of pages back i commented on the broken pump i was sent. I opened a dispute with paypal since they refused my refund. I had to ship the item back to them for my refund. Paypal then granted me my money back. Three weeks later here i sit in battle with paypal as they tried to take the money back out of my account after fish-street claims i sent them an empty box. I had since spent the money on a different pump and now paypal wants me to reimburse them the money since they decided to give my money back to fish-street.

My paypal account is now limited until i pay for a pump that was already returned

Sorry to hear your misfortune. I think most of us who ordered from FS had pretty good experience with their customer service and resolving issues.

Sorry to hear that. When you say "they sent you broken pump", was it a defected pump or a used one sent as new? I believe they located in HongKong? How did you send it back? Which carrier did you use? Usually, they will weigh the item. If it weights about right, you can dispute with paypal I believe.

Yep, FS sure scammed me out of my WP40s.

You may have had a bad experience, which is unfortunate, but to call them scammers is flat out incorrect.

I shipped back USPS and the tracking only shows until Chicago. The pump was cracked when i received it. the box was smashed pretty badly. I did dispute with paypal and won the dispute. Fish-street appealed the decision and then they took the money back form me

I just saw that they have a smaller jebao called wp25 or something like that. How do those compare to a vortech mp40?

I'm thinking of selling my vortechs and buying the jebao's instead and banking the extra money I'll have. It sucks that these came out so late, the Chinese have to step up their game, lol.

They are not release yet, but go to this thread...

There is up to date information on this post.

For tanks 25 to 75 gallons they say.

WP25 is now on FS site for $70 plus $23 shipping. 8000LPH or 2100 GPH. It looks like the same controller. Does it mean no speed control?

Can't say for sure.
All I know is that Wynstan told me that the speed controller was worked into the pump.

The price difference is not that much. $99.80 for the WP40 and $93.25 for the WP25 This includes shipping.

The pump is only $6.55 cheaper.

It looks like that group buy at $53 each shipped to me was a good deal.
Yeah I might not be the first one to have it, but big deal.

Well I can finally comment on this thread after ordering 2 for my 150

It sucks for the few that ha e had bad experiences with them
mine was great
I placed my order and within 10 days I had them delivered

All I can say is HOLY $H!ZzN!T lol
these things are amazing
I have one on one side of my tank making waves perfectlly and the other and a MP40 which I will prolly be selling soon soo I can get a couple more of the WPs

To me they are well worth the money and I am so far impressed
They are also super quiet to me at least
the only way I can hear them is to get super close to it or put my ear to it and really listen
they are much quieter than my MP so...

I will def be buying more tho
The price alone even if they only last a year to me its worth it

Well as I suspected I have had my pump two months now and it is starting to malfunction. The feed mode goes on for 5 seconds and shuts off. The pump is still flowing fine but to turn it off and feed I need to unplug it, and the only mode that works is Else mode, every other mode flows like else mode. Luckily for me that is the mode I use. Still is a great pump for the price but hopefully this isn't a sign of things to come.

Couple that with the night mode not working properly I am starting to thing long term this pump will not pass the test.

Just my experience...
