ATI Powermodule Hybrid Club

The first picture below is my setting and resulting PAR.

Your tank looks great and it's nice to see the PAR settings. I'm looking forward to see what you figure out over the next month of so. My tank is struggling to get any good color right now (corals very pale). I'm only running the LEDS for ramp-up/down. Mid day I'm only running the t5's at 100%(2 B+, 2 C+). Since my corals are pale i'm hesitant to turn the LEDs up. My nutrients are 0 so I believe that is part of my problem. I've added 2 fish to help with that.

I think the reliability of PowerModule is not very good. Just right after the warranty period, now my Channel 2 of T5 is not working -- rapid blinking.
Has anybody experienced the same ?

For me, LED clusters # 2 and #3 blink, and ATI North America can't figure out what the issue is.

I'm about to bite the bullet on a T5 of some make and these ATI issues are scaring me off somewhat. I was all set to drop the cash and now I'm doubting.

I've still got my unit from a couple of years ago working fine. I'm upgrading tanks and will be buying another unit.

I am communicating with the tech support. So far they have no clues yet.

With one of the 2 channels of T5 dead, I am clanking up leds to 100%. The par values are matching close to what I had before.
This is just temporary until we figure out what to do with the unit.

I have not had that problem but have had a few other, 1 channel wouldnt dim at all so that was fixed with a replacement controller, the new controller had sticky buttons making manual operation very tricky. I could have dealt with that if the USB adaptor hadn't failed on me, it took 6 weeks to get a replacement USB adaptor however the one that arrived was different and whilst i no longer get the USB error in windows device manager it still doesn't work.

Its a real pity as when they are working they are the fantastic, definitely the best lights i have owned but reliability is a major concern, i have recently upgraded and when it came to deciding what light i would use i did even consider getting a 5 footer but my experience with the 4 footer has left me really disappointed with ATI, i wouldn't mind so much if i had a fully operational light i could move on and get some money back but right now that doesn't seem likely.

I hope you have better luck that i did.

I had my center LED cluster's outside 8 (4 on each side) LEDs (light blue?) stop working 2 months ago. Called tech last month and swapped a working LED cluster with the failed location and saw it wasn't the cluster (per tech instructions). ATI think its the control board behind the center cluster. 2 months out of warranty and I now owe like ~$140 bucks and thats after a 20% discount (that they gave me due to it being out of warranty by such a short period).

Anyone else encounter this?

In my country we have a two year statutory warranty regardless of this one year warranty manufacturers carry on with. A thousand dollar + light breaking within 18 months is not fit for purpose.

Hey guys,

I just got the 36" 4 bulb powermodule. Boy is this thing bright. It feels like the sun is in my living room!

Where is everybody mounting the power supply/control unit?

Ok so I just got a good deal on a 24" 4 bulb hybrid fixture.

Sahin helped me out with his profile however I have some questions...

1. Are all hybrid fixture set up for channel 1 t5 and channel 2 t5 front and back? On my 6 bulb sunpower bulb 2 and 5 are together and 1, 3, 4, 6 are together.

2. Is there any way to turn on the lights for a fast night viewing without hooking it up to my PC? Sometimes I randomly turn on my lights at weird times just to view the tank for a few minutes.

3. I'm coming from a Giesemann Spectra with 250w Radium & 2 blue+ 2 actinc - which I LOVE the coloration in full lighting, didn't care so much for the blue+, actinic look when the MH was off. What max intensity should I use on the LEDs until I transition from MH to LED?

Thanks!

For question #2, you can change the clock in your controller to light up the tank. After viewing, you just have to set the clock back to the current time. Take for example, your light profile at noon is full lighting. And if you like to view your tank with full lighting just set the clock to 12:00:00.
For question #3, I have no experience in MH, can not help you there.

Have fun with your unit. It is a great light.

What duration do those with SPS tanks put their power module? I currently have 5 hours with 100% T5 and 30% LED.

Tips are colorful by deeper down into coral, it is more brown. Was wondering if I should extend max setting to 8 hours.

Thanks,

Dennis

Anyone know what the wait times for a 60" Powermodule? I called ATI and would not give me a definite date or estimate. I spoke with one of their techs and he said " they are in high demand, you will get your ordered unit before the year is over" I have been waiting for over 3 months. Thanks for any info.

It turned out to be a bad ballast on Channel 2 of T5. ATI sent me a replacement and it took me close to 3 hrs to do it. I was super careful during the process. I got help from a Youtube video on ballast replacement on an non-hybrid model. So it is a bit more complicated in my case. I am back to business.

I finally got around to setting up a 'sunset' mode on the ATI hybrid to give the tank a nice 'sunset' look/feel.

For quite a while I was running the T5s at 100% and only running the LEDs for ramp up/down and off during the day. I've now adjusted the total peak photoperiod to be much shorter with a 'peak' at 6PM. I have the T5s now at 60% at peak with the LEDS always ramping up/down peaking at 50%. Since I was in there adjusting I thought it'd be nice to have a 'sunset' occur. It's totally gimmicky and for me, but I really like it alot. The photos do an alright job of catching it..but, in reality it's not so bright and more reddish orange.

Why are the 80w units not dimmable? Considering one of these for my 450 and am debating between the 48" or 60" module. Have also thought about a dimmable sunpower w/ Kessils on the sides/back but think this would look sloppy and not sure how much the kessil spread would reach in.

There are no reliable 80w dimmable ballasts in the USA. The European version is dimmable.
